    Just had a Sundown SFB-5k that kept heating up only one side of Mosfets. Transformer seemed fine but when using LCR meter, the inductance was way off compared to the other one. Replaced transformer and problem solved. The right meters are the key. Wouldn't have found this issue without that meter.

      I know right. I told my wife I need to get a video out and what better headache to show than this oversight. I still take my Sundays off but it is getting hard as there are over 100 amplifiers in for service at this time.

    What do you charge per hour to fix amplifiers and how do i contact you

    • @ellensburgamplifier
      @ellensburgamplifier  Год назад

      Thank you for the channel support. I do not charge by the hour but rather by the job. This is where proper quoting is essential, unlike what happened with this amplifier, as I missed the inductor during the quote to the customer. www.ellensburgamplifier.com/FAQS and all my contact info is on the site.

    how you bypass the protection on those amps

    • @ellensburgamplifier
      @ellensburgamplifier  Год назад +1

      Shoot me an email and I will give you the scoop on that. I don't want to be responsible for people blowing up their outputs from bypassing the protection circuits. This is a last resort in my books.

    Is its transformer is not small for 3k watts sir?
    What is the rail voltage in this amp sir?
    How it gives the high wattage? With that small transformer and not so much copper?
    What is the frequency in supply section sir?

    • @ellensburgamplifier
      @ellensburgamplifier  Год назад

      The rail voltage is 98 volts. Your output is dependent on rail voltage. The components can be smaller due to the higher efficiency of the topology. The frequency of the supply is 20kHz.

    • @bamrahbabbu
      @bamrahbabbu Год назад +1

      @ellensburgamplifier +98 0 - 98 ? Or +49 0 -49?
      20khz is too low for an efficient system. Higher the frequency, amp will become more efficient i think.

    Is it normal for taramps to get very hot very fast? Ive heard multiple people say taramps run hot and my md12000s get very hot

    • @ellensburgamplifier
      @ellensburgamplifier  Год назад

      If you are wired low then they will heat up quickly. It all depends on how the amplifier is being driven. Make sure the fans are up to par!
