Went back to this video 5 times for 30 seconds drone footage. Possibly the best I've ever seen and definitely the best Casey has taken.
Those drone shots were jaw dropping.
I don't know Casey. I like the Karma over the Mavic. Mostly due to the fact that the camera and gimble comes off and is used separate from the drone.
+Bradley Patterson no doubt the karma is a better camera system. The gimbal and camera are incredible. For the price the karma is a no brained. But just looking at the drone the mavic has the edge with superior flight controls and range

they look totally different beasts - look at the size and weight differences for starters. Mavic is the one i'd have based on portability mainly - and the shots still look good enough for me. :)

Is it illegal, though? He didn't fly it over the statue or the island.
Its hard to say for sure but it looks like he is flying within 5 miles of an airport which is against the FAA regulations.
Technically not true- you just have to have clearance from the tower which simply involves calling them and notifying them where you are flying and your ceiling altitude. They could of course deny you clearance.
The drone is flying pretty low. I don't know the regulations but it would make sense that drones are only tolerated at low altitude. He would probably be in big trouble if he was flying the drone near or over the statue of liberty, which he didn't do.
This is some of the best drone footage that I have seen.

That was stunning as well. Dude does amazing shit with a drone. There was another one quite a while ago in NYC where it started slowly going up from an alley full of people and just kept going straight up for a high distance. It was so simple, but also really cool.

ChaoticMatters Yes I believe so! It's different than other DJI drones. There might be autofocus as well but I know you can just tap to focus on the screen.

Brian Landers just so you know there are many helicopters and airplanes in that area, which is why it's illegal. That shot was beautiful but I'd hate to see him get in trouble over something so dumb.
