Yes to all of this! I moved from Florida to the Midwest to have a lower COL. Everyone thought I was crazy to leave sunshine for winter,but Florida is getting more expensive by the day. I’m currently renting out a room in my home. I also downgraded my car so I could use regular instead of premium gas and have lower maintenance fees. I’m 45 so I want to be on my way to retirement in 10 years.
