Well done mate, this is a great. I watched your other videos and they are really good. You got a sub from me and i hope you keep making quality content like this.
Really good video. Do you plan on making something like it about the Red Army? I think it would help a lot of viewers of the series on the Operation Barbarossa to understand why it played out the way it did and not just take away that the Wehrmacht was this amazing fighting forace of pure german might or something like that and the Red Armys history from its practical destruction in 1941 to the force that achieved things like Operation Bagration, the Vistula-Oder-Operation or Operation August Storm is a really interesting story to tell.
I love this please make more 👍 love this site I tell all my friends you have loyal subs I'm waiting for more can you make one on ss, mabe Barbarossa from the red army's point of view.
IDK.....Sometimes I think all this talk of German military greatness in WW2 is overrated.I mean think about who and what they were fighting.Just how difficult is it to defeat a nation not half your strength with an air force you outnumber equipped with obsolete aircraft and outnumber in manpower and AFV's such as Poland. The same but even more so when it comes to Norway, Denmark, Belgium, and the Netherlands.France is the only real exception in that it had more tanks, comparable manpower but a largely obsolescent air arm.The Germans weren't greater....they were smarter tactically. The English were largely pathetic with inferior tanks and tactics and they didn't beat them though they should have on the ground anyway. She was saved by her naval power and had a equally strong air force. There's not much talk about it being great.Russia had already disemboweled itself and cut off its legs. Not much of a match there. To me military greatness is something when you can fairly consistently beat an opponent that's pretty much your equal.....like Napoleon did and to a somewhat lesser extent Alexander did. When the Germans came up against comparable adversaries such as the Russians......well....we know the story.
Very good video, but when you spoke of atrocities i think you forgot to mention the allied extermination/terror bombing of German civilians, i don't remember the numbers but it was in the hundred of thousands of dead civilians caused deliberately by the allied bombings. Also the ethnic cleansing of some 12 million Germans at the end of the war. They were literally ordered to leave their homes with very little time and marched west, many many died during these marches.
My man, I know i'm kinda late, but the pronunciation of the "w" in german its like a "v" in english. Idk if its an OCD, but i want to pull my hair everytime time you say luftwaffe and i hear something like "luftwaffle" great videos anyway dude, sorry you haven't uploaded anymore
Regarding German army war crimes, I think a factor that is often forgotten is the historical background from Prussian and German army. Their behavior towards civilians in occupied countries has always been very harsh in case of irregular warfare. Hostages were taken and killed, any kind of milicien not part of regular army was killed if taken alive. This appeared as legitimate to many German officers of that time but regarded as a war crime from occupied countries. Therefore with such a background, the drift toward important war crimes in occupied USSR was even easier, in my opinion.
I get English isn't your first language but please stop fucking saying "woman" it's Women Woman refers to a single female Were as Women refers to a group of females.

Heer in German is pronounced 'heyr', like 'hair'.
Ja ich bin Deutsch.
It really makes me laugh when people say it wrong but it doesn't matter too much.
Great content, you inspired me to create ww2 map videos! Cheers. Keep up the great quality
This should be shown in schools, excellent video.
"Waffen" is pronounced with a "V" sound in the beginning. :) other than that, great video!

The german army was the most powerful force on earth in both world wars, until 1918 and until late 1943.
