Mig 21 can carry AIM 120 AMRAAM misile with a range from 30 up to 120KM so right now the dogfights are all gone and BVR(beiond visual range fighting) is on..Right now it doesn't matter witch aricraft you're flying it depends on what tipe of radar and what tipe of weaponology you use...and I can ensure you that a Mig21 LanceR A is much better at avionics than the F-16 and I think the balance is balanced on Mig LanceR..search the internet if u don't belive me...
well..let me tell u a short story...this Mig 21 that u see in this video is not the standard one..it's called LanceR for a reason-it's heavy upgrated...it can easily take down 1 F-16 blk 15 up to 40...it has better aivionics and use a superior armament..like Matra Magic 2...also radar range is better than the F-16(LanceR uses a Elta-2032 which is superior to APG-68)...anyway there are a lot of big differances between LanceR and F16. and i ensure u that LanceR is better than F 16...
Nope. Hes right. These aren't your dad's MiG-21 jets. They were beefed up like crazy with israeli avionics and are just as good as any other 4th gen fighter.
The only thing i'm capable to say is that it is a brilliant piece of engineering. The handling on this plane is far superior than all of the fighters of its era. You should learn more about them and mostly, the upgrades on it. Don't be fooled by the year its been designed, because it had a lot of improvements. And after you study it long enough you'll see that it's one of the best fighters ever made.

The Romanian Air Force is getting better and better since your comment was posted. Romania bought 12 F-16, indeed they are used, but very well upgraded. Now its planned another 12 F-16 to be bought and in a few years Romania will be allowed to buy F-35

Lancer is not a regular MIG 21 its been upgraded that's why I said it can take F16 or Mirage. I don' believe a regular MIG 21 can:)
