I saw him open up for Ocean Colour Scene at the Metro in Chicago. It amazes me that such a huge talent like Jimmy Gnecco goes unnoticed for so long. He's a musicians musician.
"Dizzy" is one of my all time favorite songs. I got to see Ours years ago supporting "Distorted Lullabies". It was a Chicago bar called "The Bar". We drove 4 hours from Michigan and it is still one of my favorite concerts. when the next band was on i nearly accidentally knocked Jimmy Gnecco over on my way to the bathroom. as i apologized i realized it was him and we chatted for several minutes. he was such a nice guy and i knew he was/is going to be a legend.
One of my friends was murdered yesterday... I met him at a karaoke place, after he sang something impossible, and I gave him props for it. About an hour ago, I heard that he was murdered a day ago... Last time I heard him sing anything at karaoke was "Killing Me Softly" by Fugees, and he had such an angelic voice, just like all the other songs he sang. R.I.P. Freddie. I am dedicating this song to you, brother. You were awesome! Always! Muthafucka that took your life will pay for that shit, bro!
When I knew that song I used to listen: Ours, Incubus, Papa Roach, A Perfect Circle, Alien Ant Farm, Limp Bizkit, Blur, Mansun, Muse, Tool, Linkin Park, At The Drive-in, P.O.D., Staind, No Doubt, 3 Doors Down... I'm getting old.....
Thank you for loading this album version , truly one of the best songs that conjures images of the beast flying through the air with large wings , and the beast flies tonight and the world cant describe suffer, suffer.
Amazes me that an artist like him, or to say, a band like this is not upon the top 10 in the world..so much shit on mainstream, and real bands are down the list of underrated ones.
I love that people here know who Jon Crosby is as well. Both phenomenal composers and vocalists, multitalented guys with a 'goth' edge. Usually someone who listens to one can be recommended the other I've found :) If you don't know them already, you'd like Mansun too, probably. (Not Marilyn, no disrespect. But note the spelling). And a bit lighter fare, but David Garza's "This Euphoria" has this style, but more jazzy/poppy.
I'm almost positive I was at one of those shows that one of the video's pictures is from. Lower east side bar- can't remember the name. The end of this song always rocks me so hard.
Insane talent. All these comparisons are off single points or notes in the song. So hebhas tones that sound like bono and buckley it is clear he has his own style and mood that separates him from others. I even here some James in there. From the laid album. Absolutely remarkable talent
@Amarynthine Pick up all three of their albums. Wonderful band. The CDs can actually be found in bargain bins all over the US which is unfortunate in a way. They also have a debut album from 94 or so that's a bitch to find but can be found online, it's called Sour.
Ironically, when I'm writing my story (deals with major horror/gore/action adventure elements of the supernatural and such, i'd post the link but it won't let me), I hear these guys as far as theme music, in my head. Specially this song. I know it's deeper than the lyrics state, but to take them almost litterally parellels the first book. Either way, amazingly dark and awesome stuff.
@MrMetropolitanRunner spot on. Many people have ripped off Grace, but this is the most direct and obvious lift. The high vocal in the outro is a copy of the middle 8, the riff has the same feel too....
To be honest, I think both Muse and Ours sound like U2. Gnecco can croon like Bono - and that's a compliment. I think Ours have their own sound though; their own style.
I wonder why this guy never made it really big? He certainly has chops… but I’m a musician’s musician and had never heard of the guy until yesterday, which is a bit of a pity really. Was it because he signed with Dreamworks? I just don’t get it.
The theme of Lana’s most current offering…. And when you know you know..are you friends? The moment that you know you know also links back to Bowie.. and Girl.
The theme of Lana’s most current offering…. And when you know you know..are you friends? The moment that you know you know also links back to Bowie.. and Girl.
@SoundscapeMN Just about! Showbiz Predates Distorted Lullabies but I think similarities are a coincidence. I reckon Ours are influenced by Radiohead, I know Muse are
Shit i just heard of this band and im a huge muse fan theyre in my top 20 and man, these guys and muse are very similar sounding at least from this song haha but im def gonna check them out more, hopefully they start to sound apart :/
@Selerdor10 All music is a result of the music an artist has 'absorbed' as an influence. No offense is intended. I hate it when reviewers take an album like this and say they're copying someone else. Apparently, everyone is 'copying' Radiohead or Buckley... maybe they should be looked at them as pioneers of a new Genre of music... Then all these brilliant bands can flourish.
I hear some minor similarity in the vocals but then again everything thing is based on something else so the two band's roots probably share some similar roots in musical history. What's more, It's just in human nature to interpret something different by comparing it to something they know about.
Actually, it's more like Jeff Buckley and Radiohead than Muse but to be honest, it's more of a matter of who you hear first not who came first. How can someone remind you of someone else you don't even know yet?
This is tech my Brother in law weirdly as it feels to write .. Trixter lead singer is my Older Brother.. I'm talented in other Artistic ways I'd like to think I am . I draw n people pay me to draw them tattoos but not a tattoo artist.. Carry on lol
i've worked with Jimmy Gnecco we recorded together and he is very talented now on my album on CDBaby.com and iTunes under Sunshyne Machyne ,,,,New Days Of Old ,,,The Right One,,,,Holy ,,and Spread your wings there are songs on Sudden Madness also and my song I WALK WITH YOU(forever young) is going in the movie THE WATCH TOWER with up and coming singer Anabel Holiday free songs clips
oh gosh.Endless discussions about muse and ours being similar. Noone is copying the other. The both bands were just brough up on Jeff Buckley's songs in which you can hear the influence pretty much. Stop this useless bullshit. And yeah, ours released their first album before muse got big( and i think they even recorded it before muse released theirs)
That's right, and both bands and also Jeff Buckley are bands of the category "new british pop" and i'm sure the heard from each other or played in the same pubs and clubs and each one takes parts of copies of the other one, but you can see it also year for year in all musican areas and by greater bands, that's normal and also you can find parts of bands 20 or 30 years ago which find now a re-loaded or new upcoming. and this will be also in 20 or 50 in the future the same. 3:)
what a beautiful combination of jeff buckley and muse!...just love it! :)
Ya I guess so eh
My wife introduced me to jimmy now i had a relapse been clean 3 yrs and she threw me away and rhis is all i feel in my heart

those high notes are simply angelic
that is the single most amazing scream ive ever heard in any song in my life.
He has an amazing voice!
No one like him
A great song , distorted lullabies is a great album.

The Greatest 🙏🏼🎙🪙🌟
its insane that these guys r STILL not mainstream...wow
I love this song and his amazing voice ❤
Have seen some amazing musicians in my time.....Jimmy gave me chills when he sang.....the real deal
So glad my ex took me to see them years ago. I still can't believe they are so unknown.
Too good for spotify :0
Really.. can't find it there. But can see Jimmy's other work.
i very rarely listen to metal, but this is the music that the people should be listening to.
pure talent.
2022 and still rocks
What a masterpiece!
👍👍your right , whole album is sick

Boom!! Love you Jimmy!! ❤️
Best singing vice ever!
Such a great song from such an under rated artist!
I've seen them 7x n its never enough.
This may be their best/most well composed song, in my opinion, absolutely incredible.
Aaron Fineburg Mindgame almost been 20yrs... "Ninos Con Bombas"!
Love this music
One of my fav album when I was younger. 😊 I listened it a lot!
Seen him. Love him. Oh. Beats Bono. Long shot.
Thank you for loading this album version , truly one of the best songs that conjures images of the beast flying through the air with large wings , and the beast flies tonight and the world cant describe suffer, suffer.
This song is driving crazy good. It rules. This album rules.
something takes me back!
i got this album a long long time ago n loved it n forgot about it lol good times!!
AMAZING
juega con su voz, y lo hace muuuy bien.... el grito es excelente :@
Amazes me that an artist like him, or to say, a band like this is not upon the top 10 in the world..so much shit on mainstream, and real bands are down the list of underrated ones.
Maybe he just wanted to st ay true to himself.
absolutely
Fair enough! @@wraithoftheirish
@DGog224 That scream is insane live! He catches you by surprise with a ton of volume!
I love that people here know who Jon Crosby is as well. Both phenomenal composers and vocalists, multitalented guys with a 'goth' edge. Usually someone who listens to one can be recommended the other I've found :)

my new fave band. This album came out THAT long, and I am just now hearing about it???? If Bono and Muse had a baby, this is what it would sound like
I'm almost positive I was at one of those shows that one of the video's pictures is from. Lower east side bar- can't remember the name.
The end of this song always rocks me so hard.
'wait in the fire, wait in the fire'
Wrong singer..
But it goes so slow...
Epic👍
Jimmy Gnecco's screm is awesome
amazing
one of the best singers that few have heard of. He sang with Brian May, and he's overqualified for Velvet Revolver. Obviously.
Insane talent. All these comparisons are off single points or notes in the song. So hebhas tones that sound like bono and buckley it is clear he has his own style and mood that separates him from others. I even here some James in there. From the laid album. Absolutely remarkable talent
@SoundscapeMN I agree 100% and its always the artist that never sell out to corporate that get forgotten the quickest.
I hope after Jimmy's solo album will be a new Ours release, maybe next year... ;)
Best song off there first album imo!
didn't know u2 had a baby with muse back in 2001, but here it is.
@DGog224 That scream just puts goosebumps onto my skin, and makes me tear up! :*O It's so full of energy and soul!!!
@Amarynthine Pick up all three of their albums. Wonderful band. The CDs can actually be found in bargain bins all over the US which is unfortunate in a way. They also have a debut album from 94 or so that's a bitch to find but can be found online, it's called Sour.
Sweet. You have good taste. ;) Been missing that game a lot lately. Nothing else quite like it.
Ironically, when I'm writing my story (deals with major horror/gore/action adventure elements of the supernatural and such, i'd post the link but it won't let me), I hear these guys as far as theme music, in my head. and suffer suffer......yeah!
Adore your comment and picture. That was my favorite NES game too:)
2:56
Ridiculous! Just tares through your soul!
He really puts his heart into his singing. Beautiful.
@MrMetropolitanRunner spot on. Many people have ripped off Grace, but this is the most direct and obvious lift. The high vocal in the outro is a copy of the middle 8, the riff has the same feel too....

I agree completely
WORDS. If you know you know.
MINDGAME. Got me into this band almost 20 years ago and haven't stopped
The theme of Lana’s most current offering…. And when you know you know..are you friends? The moment that you know you know also links back to Bowie.. and Girl.

Feel like my ears'd been cleaned out after hearing this
dobra pjesma do bola
arron feinbers section in words........ fuckin tune
@respectyourkids yep, that too. Although I think the U2 and Bono influence is more obvious in The Worst Thing Beautiful.
Yeah, Showbiz IMO
WORD TO THIS COMMENT! Totally true. Thanks for saying it.
MindGame WORDS + Bag of cocaine = me in heaven (circa 2001)
Jimmy Gnecco and Ville Valo need to collaborate on something.
My old best friend's mom thought this song reminded her of Phantom of The Opera.
That scream...
@SoundscapeMN Just about! Showbiz Predates Distorted Lullabies but I think similarities are a coincidence. I reckon Ours are influenced by Radiohead, I know Muse are
2:19 oh shit
"impossible to cover" song
This kind of reminds me of vast
@SoundscapeMN
This reminds me of Muse
yes, that's right... ;)
epic
Shit i just heard of this band and im a huge muse fan theyre in my top 20 and man, these guys and muse are very similar sounding at least from this song haha but im def gonna check them out more, hopefully they start to sound apart :/
Where can I find this album? Not on spotify

Kinda got a Jeff Buckley sound to it; very good.
gnecco for vr!

Dunno why but they remind me of the old Muse....
looks like buckley @ 2:48
they were friends. i think jimmy was his guitar tech before he died
1:07 he looks like Bono.
It's nice to know that there were two Jeff Buckleys in the world. Sadly the original one is already dead.
Wikipedia says they were friends shortly before Jeff's death. But yeah, I agree
Jeff buckley was amazing. and im glad you like this guy as well! he reminds me a lot of buckley too!
he used to work for Jeff!
+Kevin Lafrance No he didn't.
Norce555 I thought I read he did. funny they said he was his sound technician. my bad. I'm not a bad person
Actually, it's more like Jeff Buckley and Radiohead than Muse but to be honest, it's more of a matter of who you hear first not who came first. How can someone remind you of someone else you don't even know yet?

Kinda reminds me of Jeff Buckley! he does also look a bit like him.
i've worked with Jimmy Gnecco we recorded together and he is very talented now on my album on CDBaby.com and iTunes under Sunshyne Machyne ,,,,New Days Of Old ,,,The Right One,,,,Holy ,,and Spread your wings there are songs on Sudden Madness also and my song I WALK WITH YOU(forever young) is going in the movie THE WATCH TOWER with up and coming singer Anabel Holiday free songs clips
The song is at 666 likes now!
@SoundscapeMN Only 'Ours' is wayyyyy wayyyyy better and less sell out-ish
More like Velvet Revolver isn't good enough for Jimmy Gnecco...
or 2:47 rather
i don't think that ours sounds like any band but ours.
