@@jlinka79 Shawn didn't buy any of the SIG's that have recently been given to guests. Jason, the SIG Sauer representative has gifted them all to the guests through Shawn.
It all boils down to an algorithm that (in my opinion) Shawn has taken great lengths not to violate and content that this channel is attempting to provide. I hope that this channel can continue to openly provide their guest with such a gift as well as providing us insight as to "the why" these operators do carry into their (permissive / non-permissive) environments.

I’ve had the Ronin Shoto Blade for about a year and a half now. It’s become part of my duty setup, clipped inside a cargo pocket at work, should I ever be disarmed of my duty gun by an attacker. I chose this over a j-frame revolver to save size and weight, while still retaining an effective fighting tool. It draws like it was designed to and is showing zero signs of wear. I have to say, I’m really happy with it, and I think Tu and Spartan Blades did a very good job with its design. I’d love to take a class from him one day. His videos alone have greatly improved my proficiency with rifle and pistol. God bless Tu & Shawn 🇺🇸 Great job fellas.
Totally agree with you about the 5.11 sling bags. I recommend a fly fishing sling bag. They're low vis, big pouches, and some are waterproof.

I've been a paramedic for 26 years, former Paratrooper/medic.
I on body carry but when wife/I go to movies, mall, I'll add a sling bag with extra mags, a head light, extra trauma gear.
Might get some low Viz bag myself... ❤ Idea
I think this is the first time that Shawn has delved into watches as an EDC. Just as with med kits, blades, firearm, or charging devices the phone, this does play into EDC. Shawn, please continue to ask this question with follow on guests.
Totally agree, good subject I am interested in as well. Also, you have to recognize Shawn's modesty in not upstaging his guest. Tu is wearing a standard steel black Submariner, a gorgeous versatile EDC watch. However, Shawn is ALSO wearing a Submariner, only his with the bright blue bezel, aka the Cookie Monster, is notable watch nerds in that it is made of solid white gold instead of the usual stainless steel. It also costs about 4x the standard one Tu has. Shawn had the perfect opportunity to say this but didn't. Classy, modest and understated as ever Shawn, well played.

I've been carrying with a Viktos Upscale sling bag for a long time. It allows for my pistol, extra mag, knife, multi tool, FAK, flashlight, optional items, and best there is soft armor and a hard armor insert. It goes running with me too.
For days when I'm with the Mrs. and our daughters, I use the Viktos Upscale XL. It's just bigger and I can then carry some domestic things like sunscreen, Kleenex, baby wipes, etc, and a larger armor profile.
I will usually carry a camera bag..... with no camera inside...... I get one with the brand, polaroid, plastered on front so it throws people off.

EDC camera bag is super underrated and it's more reasonable to carry one in public than a fanny pack or man-bag but smaller than laptop bag or backpack.
Nice! I like that. I've carried a 10.5" AR, 2 extra mags, suppressor , and IFAK, in a tennis racket bag before.

My family has had a Richway BioMat for over 10 years. That thing is amazing. I’ve even slept on it overnight on a lower setting. It’s sick ! It helps with my herniated discs and chronic inflammation problems from being a skateboarder. It’s cleanses your organs and everything.

@@daviedood2503 go to Google and look up the Biomat. It is like a heating pad on steroids. Instead of heating from the outside inward, it used Farr infrared rays to heat the area 6 inches deep from the inside out. You get circulation to areas that lack it. With the circulation of blood brings healing properties to the area and also filters out toxins in the area. It’s an amazing thing. Biomat is a specific company there are others. Please get one for your mom, it will help her quality of life.
You can use it on a high setting for short period or use the low setting for hours on end and it brings amazing healing and most importantly the relief. Also you have to drink a lot of water after becuase it flushes toxins out.
Get one of those muscle massage guns if you haven’t yet. Make sure to get a good one.
Use the mat then massage and repeat.

Staying in Delta brainwaves while being awake with 420 & meditating/focusing while listening to positive music (Bob Marley or Worship Music) has helped me.reprogram my subconscious as Tu mentioned but without the BioAcoustic Mat.
420 coupled positive music is my therapy.

The key difference between Buddhist meditation and Christian meditation is emptying your mind, versus focusing on scripture and letting the Holy Spirit speak to you and bring change to you.

@ShawnRyanShow 9.45 industries makes a standard looking fanny pack similar to Lululemon + others. Not a boujee bag, and not a 5.11 bag. 2 different sizes for full size and compact/sub pistols.. Somewhere that fits right down the middle suitable for American Suburbia. I've pretty much stopped carrying appendix all together and throw this thing over my shoulder every time I leave the house.
The USCCA channel did a great video about off body carry. I invite you to check it out. TL;DR Off body carry is deceptive.
I bought the largest one (QAPL) and I absolutely love it for my Glock 26. The side pouch allows you to put so much more stuff, and the holster stays secure. The quick-pull tab is another feature that got me to buy the bag. It's great for when you don't want to carry appendix.
Mr. Lam seems like the classiest spec ops warrior ever.

Shaun, what a great interview! I Totally agree with carry bags. I carry 4 tourniquets, 4, believe it or not, tampons to plug the holes if needed, one folder blade in the bag and one OTF Heretic or microtech blade in the pocket or waterline, 2-17 rd mags in the bag, one on my person, a cell phone and backup battery in a messenger bag. It’s all about placement of these items for the atmosphere you will be transiting.
I do same thing on KNOWING my Suroundings in ALL public places really everywhere i go...good practice...with driving also

I viewed a RUclips short not long ago, of a Vietnam veteran that had his military issued Rolex appraised for around $400,000. It was classified "unworn", and might have had some other kind of unique provenance or something, but nevertheless was a very rare treasure.
I saw that appraisal too. But he bought it at the PX. The military has never issues a Rolex to anyone 😂 I wish!

With or without bud. Mental practice is to focus the mind in the moment. For me, Bud helps remove the background noise & focus faster. For others it does the opposite & sends them into a manic state.
This practice of mine is nothing new.

In Libya & Sinai it wasn’t a problem. You can’t move around in tactical gear at all though.

The very first night my wife andI were in Bangkok years ago she had on a sling bag, I had already noticed a young thug who coincidentally looked like a young Tu, directing his minions around the city crossroads. Out of the corner of my eye a teen made a grab for my wifes bag but I was too quick and stepped in front a half second ahead of him. He looked at me with fury in his eyes. Sling bags have an obvious weakness.
Xmacro I give 8 out of ten. I have trouble gripping it with my support hand and every now and then I get a failure to feed but that’s with a crappy pro mag extension mag. I use the promag just for failure training

Seeing this made me think of a lot of things I've gotten to wear now. I wear nothing but cargo pants and I can put even one of my 33 round magazines in those pockets and nobody will ever know it. I carry at least 1 firearm 2 knives ammunition like you wouldn't believe. Some of my buddies have been kidding me about that and I tell them l've been in the military and a firefights of course. I say no I don't like running out of ammo I was also a police officer in my hometown . I realize how fast people can get into a situation they didn't even recognize what's about to happen. I go out every day with more stuff than I carried when I was a cop . we've had too many shootings locally
I'm going out prepared . There have been so many mall shootings in the country one can't even go shopping without thinking about it .

The everyday carry segment is the one I don’t understand. In Scotland I go to the mall (shopping centre) with a small bag to carry shopping, my phone and a credit card to pay for things.
EDC is not only about firearms. Here in Canada, I have a penknife, whistle, small flashlight, sometimes a weapon-pen, some paracord, and the like. Often people will also carry a phone-recharging battery, in case of emergencies, to recharge their smartphone when away from home.
The “always ready” EDC mindset is not just for you, but for family, neighbours, strangers, and emergency situations- storms, blackouts, t3rrorism, accidents, disasters, car accidents. Many knives will come with a small window-breaking spike on them, in case you get trapped in a car and must get out.
I just had to look up the Rolex Daytona...nice watch...it does look classy.
I bought one 20 years ago when they were a lot less expensive. I couldn't afford to buy a new one now lol

Look into environmental hormesis. Doing cold plunges and saunas are great for you.
The problem with these bags…. Is that, a lot of people carry money in them so you might get robbed for the bag.
