Excellent choice russ, love the El Viejo Dragon figures :) For what they cost they are decent. You have certainly inspired me to do some Romans again, i have a bunch of them in the stash. The shield heraldry just really puts me off every time, but with decals it will be better. will try to track down some of them here. tried that a while ago already and did not succeed.

Sweet, I love Roman Legionnaires so will be watching to see how you finish this one. Looks like a great figure and a good choice of transfer to decorate it, too. Have fun with him! Cheers : )

Great kit Russsell! Loads of details there; I'm sure you're gonna have fun with all the metal work possibilities. I think that's the light pilum; the one they used to throw.. Yeah the heavy pilum is gona look more imposing

Good start to the Legionnaire build, Russell. Nice looking figure. Cool there's some options for the helmets. Enjoy the rest of the project. Bill
    PS: Carpe Diem!

Thank you, Gil. I would like to paint more figures in the coming year. I'm way out of practice.

Russ you should check out the channel "Metatron". Amongst other things, he's a Roman Reinactor and several other periods. I know he's got a number of videos on the various types of arms and armour. He's got a very interesting channel.
