Nightmare shepherd. It can add protection for your creatures and keeps them on the field after death with there original effects for hurting the opponents. Also works well with the commander, you choose for it to enter the battlefield, then exile it and create a copy 1/1 nightmare of Sheoldred and then choose to return to the commander zone when it moves from the GY to exile. My version of the deck includes more creatures and 3 of the fetch tutors. I like the lands you use, I will look at adding some of the utility lands to improve my own.

Yeh I did consider that one. I felt that I didn't have enough to trigger Madness. I took that slot and put it to protecting Sheoldred instead. If I went down the Seizan route with lots of discards than definitely I would slot that in.
A very popular question! The white mana symbol is part of the reminder text and thus not part of determining colour identity. See rule 2 of the commander rules. Crypt Ghast is very popular in mono black for sure!

You gotta be real careful with the aetherflux and lich's mastery, cause if you pay 50 life you gotta, exile 50 cards before you get to deal the damage
