I’m not too picky about perfect matching but WILL definitely notice it as soon as I attach it to the camera. This accessory is more functional than just an aesthetic add-on so I’ll focus on the grip enhancement, the Arca plate, the typical Smallrig clever features and build quality👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks, Alan! Your assessment was very thorough and thoughtful--thinking about the little things (re. usability) that may not be so obvious! As Tony the Tiger might say, this grip looks grrrrreat!
Good one Alan👍. The observation you made about the mismatching of the finishing to the ZFc’s is valid since Smallrig is the exclusive manufacturer of such an accessory for Nikon. Did you get it from Nikon or directly from Smallrig? Perhaps there might be that slight difference?
I pre-ordered it directly from SmallRig. I think that unlike the Tripod Grip, in which Nikon has total control of the distribution channel, this L-Shapr Grip is not included in that arrangement. I believe this is SmallRig's own initiative and they were not able to match the color and finish of the Nikon camera body.
Alan the intro music is hard rock and OK. The music during the video while you are speaking sounds like a 1970's tape recorder that has serious problems with its motor. So much wow and flutter you should be shooting a B movie recorded on VHS on a bad day. It sounds AWFUL and detracts from your videos. Sort bit out please. I Like the content - the backing music quality is awful.
thanks for the feedback, I'm still learning to build my content as a one-man-production, will try to improve as much as I can. could you elaborate "wow and flutter"? as you can tell I do not have the best command of English. What genre of music would you suggest?
How do you find the grip? Or would you rather wait for the original grip from Nikon?

@@psoon04286 like I said, I'm just nitpicking... lol
@@alangadgets I think you and I are expecting the usual high standards from SmallRig.
@@psoon04286 that's true, they haven't disappointed so far

Nice work, Alan!
Thanks!
Watched your video on the grip last week. Sorry that they messed up your order. Did you manage to get a replacement from SmallRig?
@@alangadgets Yes, they sent me another one. Good customer service. It wasn't their fault. It was damaged during shipping.
@@PhilThach yes they have great service and response, thats why I keep going back to them. They have certain pride that not many companies have
So far, I only know SmallRig, JJC, and Nikon itself make grips for the Z fc. It'd be interesting to see how they compare to each other.
I had that idea too but Nikon did not have the stock yet at that time
