When Sainz and Norris used to complain about trying to wring the neck out of the car to get anything out of it in 2020, 2021 seemed to look good and I was looking forward to 2022 for more improvement. How wrong I was.
McLaren were 4th in the championship in 2021 with a 1-2 win at Monza and a bunch of inconsistent points during the season, so I thought that 2022 could only get better with development. How wrong I was.
Changing Andreas-1 for Andreas-2 doesn't seem to have made a difference yet and I can't see anything changing at least until June-July. That's a long way down the road, so as much as I want to see success there, also because Piastri is my countryman, I doubt that anything ground-breaking is going to occur. They'll need a miracle to move up the table.

Something says they’re looking forward to 2024 season at this point…will be an interesting off season.

Mercedes’ re-entry into the constructors championship was pretty much the end for McLaren. Once that partnership ended and the fact Hamilton went to Mercedes, there was no way back to the top for McLaren.

Ricciardo is mentioned as a winner after departing Mclaren mostly because DanyRic was paid 10 million to end the contract early.
That's why he's sort of a meme right now as a Red Bull's 3rd driver, which is also the fastest team currently.
Just imagine being paid 10 million not to drive this slow and unreliable Mclaren this year and to end up as a 3rd driver of the fastest car in the F1 menu right now :)
Other than that, very good video and nice accuracy on the details ;)

Nothing good last forever unfortunately. Sometimes success breeds unforeseen issues. Hope they can get back to the top one day

But can they rebound is the question? 🧐

I feel like the team can place better than they have in the first two races. Norris is an excellent driver, and Piastri has shown glimpses of real potential. Mclaren has had some bad luck with front wing damage as well as reliability issues. But it's only the first 2 races. If the drivers can keep it clean and not have those reliability problems, we could easily see them 9th or 10th. Still not where they want to be, but it would be an improvement, at least.
You should do some more videos focusing on historic drivers/teams or seasons. This video was an interesting look back.

I don't think so personally I think after he had a really good season last year and that he should be given a but longer than 2 races to bring that question up.

Hey, you’ve used the wrong title/thumbnail for this vid, could you change them please as it’s misleading. You’ll end up with a bad reputation for bullshit, “click bait” content otherwise. I assume the “I’m out/Lando Norris pushed out!” video will be coming next. I’m wondering who’ll be Piastri’s teammate for the rest of the year, I think probably Mick Schumacher would be the obvious choice. Anyway, looking forward to the video. Cheers 🙂

They seem to be relying upon their new wind tunnel which is supposed to be online in June this year. I will wait until then to pass any judgement. It would be great if the wind tunnel generates the changes to the cars which they need. The grid needs McLaren as they have been a mainstay for many years producing amazing cars which have won Championships. But then again we will see!!

Tough way to wait until June though! But I’m sure there’s a method to the madness

Does McLaten want to win at any cost? Last year they gave up performance to driver comfort, Mercedes refused to do so. Zack Brown is CEO and gets in the way of the F1 raceteam. Maybe two reasons why Andreas Seidl left so soon? James Key wasn't the saviour also. They have still acces to one of the argualy most powerfull and reliable engines.
McLaren is changing, again. I don't know, it doesn't breeths confidence.

  • @yindyamarra

Yes, Sack Zack, he payed for great drivers and gives them a car that won’t work, than sacks them,
Danny Ric got that win for him, that’s the only thing good they done since Zack took over,

They're no chance of getting to the top until they poach Adrian Newey from red bull.

No mclaren won’t bounce back to much internal pressure and no one taking responsibility for the mess Zak brown has created can’t blame Dan r this year and it was not dans fault that they had a very poor car and this is looking very very poor again

Norris will score points but only because it’s Norris. That car is so bad it’s got people sacked who designed it 🤣

#SackZac he has failed, what ever he achieved in marketing $$ he has blown paying payouts to multiple drivers and legal settlements
It’s only a matter of time before he bankrupts McLaren
