    yeah I definitely saw that. I mean I remember the time when I pointed a laser pointer to my eyes and damaged my eyes when I was a kid. they have that shape inside.

    Diffraction pattern with 1 slit.
    So why is so much fuss over 2 slits?
    Even more: one sees diffraction just on a single EDGE.

      because the first person(Young) to ever demonstrate interference did it with 2 slits plus it is easier to explain than diffraction

      Its central maximum, So intensity is maximum thats why it is brighter than others...
