A real live recording, exploring the venue's warm atmosphere. A brilliant and raw performance by DD. Excellent video, with excellent audience and band. ❤👍👍👍
They need to add more songs from Seven and Ragged Tiger album such as this on their set list. That was literally when they reached the height of their career in the 80's. You can see how many people are singing the lyrics word by word to a song that was NEVER on the radio or even had a video made for it.
@@tracymccowan4232 I know I hate hearing the Rio stuff. Unless it was new religion or lonely in your nightmare. I'd like to hear more stuff from big thing, notorious, liberty
"Shadows" is a gem from '7 and the Ragged Tiger' I'd adore to hear live! From that same record, if they threw in "Cracks in the Pavement"...oh mercy, that'd be concert heaven! So thankful to have found this video!
Just can't describe how touching to view this song in live version(and it's flawLESS) after all these years...... Time really truly flies... but my teenage era is back while listening to this song( plus all the songs from the first 3 DD albums) !!!!!!!
I was listening to this song on ghetto blaster beside me in the seat of the car shortly before I rolled going around a corner too fast on a dirt road 😂
I have been a Duran Duran fans for 30 years, this rehearsal of Shadow on yours Sides is absolutely FANTASTICO..It has been great to hear this live.thanks for posting
The rhythm is a killer and the words go well with the rhythm and chord. While singing in a male choir in college we were explained that when words and chords go well together it is a good declamation.
The best part of every DD concert is the Duranies. We have a unique connection to our band and when we are all singing along it is the best thing on Planet Earth.
seven and the ragged tiger tracks must have been a real task live ,they were fantastic labours of love,to play them live to the same quality wasnt really possible...thank the techno gods for midi and samplers that made it a reality ,it was a brilliant album ...and to hear it live was great .they were ahead of the technology and im thankfull they were...so inspiring x
Amazing, Amazing, amazing!!!! 😎😎 One of those bests Songs from DD. Is there anybody here in 2019 who love this Song?! And where are all the german Fans?!
I really love the song structure in their older music. They always came up with the greatest choruses where the music suddenly switches almost like a drop in modern dance and techno.
One of the best live concert recordings I have seen. Perfectly caught this great atmosphere. You just wish you were there just like that. And obviously, such a great song, one of my favs.
Seeing DD live is ALWAYS a treat. I've managed it what, 4 times now? I always hope they will sing "Friends of Mine", "Shadows on Your Side" and pretty much all the songs from 7 and The Ragged Tiger but it is SO rare that they do. Thank you for this treat!
Most iconic DD song, I have been dreaming to listen this live but never managed. The only regret into this performance is the guitar player who plays a wrong bridge melody @ 1:59
mm, great idea, you thought to put the full playlist too; thx a lot for that too (excellent to have a full idea of the show content at a glance) ! -very nice indeed! :)
True fans they know every word great song its apity they didnt release shadows on your side, this is a great atmosphere hope they play more like these great songs in there Dublin concert what atreat.
DD is the only band I know of who sound better live, especially on certain songs. Love Roger and John. So grateful I saw them live back in the day! However, that loud yelling dude scares me.
this is when duran duran should realise from reactions like this, the old way is their best way ;) when it comes to new, more 'all you need is now' and less nile rodgers shite
I do love their old music too, but I kinda disagree. They have to merge their unique sound with a current vibe. As a Registered Nurse, you wouldn't want me to treat you today using '83 medicinal techniques. Things have to progress it's why other bands from the '80s aren't here today. Although I do agree with you that the more they draw from what made them popular rather than collaborating with the the likes of Justin Timberlake the better. All You Need is Now is a much better album than Red Carpet Massacre and Paper Gods because those 2 albums they weren't as true to themselves, everyone had too much say in the music on those albums. I love the new song Invisible, and I hope Future Past will be a top notch album and I hope the Tour will have a good mix of all their work across the decades!
This, “the seventh Stranger” and “Of Crime and Passion” need to be in every set. We got enough of “the Reflex”
New Moon on Monday too
A real live recording, exploring the venue's warm atmosphere.
A brilliant and raw performance by DD. Excellent video, with excellent audience and band. ❤👍👍👍
Great Song, Underated... Love It

Great points! I was surprised almost all the people knew the lyrics.
Listen to their audience singing wholeheartedly. And this is quality pop music.
This is a really catchy song. Live they sound better than the Beatles.
I am a big Beatles fan, but the Fab Four could never sound this good live. Duran Duran is one of my favorite bands ever, along with Genesis.
And I thought that I was the only one who likes this incredible song. Amazing perfomance!!
This song is non-stop beat, flawless, and they are playing it live!
If I were managing Duran Duran's tours , I would include gems like this and make the set list longer.
I know right?
The biggest problem is their sets are so short. 14-16 tracks is tough.
There are a few I am burned out on live.
@@tracymccowan4232 I know I hate hearing the Rio stuff. Unless it was new religion or lonely in your nightmare. I'd like to hear more stuff from big thing, notorious, liberty
@@TheChadTI their set lists have become boring and repetitive. Same songs tour after tour
super-underrated tune
I was there!! Best £30 I ever spent .... no expensive lights or screens, just an immense band doing what they do best ..
"Shadows" is a gem from '7 and the Ragged Tiger' I'd adore to hear live! From that same record, if they threw in "Cracks in the Pavement"...oh mercy, that'd be concert heaven! So thankful to have found this video!
This is the kind of pop music that will be still loved one hundred years from now.
I have had an eventful, adventurous life, thus Duran Duran's own adventurous music feels so mine to me.
They don't even play new moon or snake anymore.
@@miked3168
I agree. They need to include at least one of those two among the new material and rio songs at concerts.
Quality pop music, I like it as much as I like good classical music.
Listen to this amazing audience they know the words by heart this is real emotion
That was my exact comment before I even read yours!!🙋 High 5!!
Duranies are the most incredible group of fans ever. 40+ years later and we and our band are still here.
only real fans would know this!
Totally
I have been a Duran Duran fans for 30 years, this rehearsal of Shadow on yours Sides is absolutely FANTASTICO..It has been great to hear this live.thanks for posting
Listen to the crowd! I love that they know every word of the song just as most of us do who love Duran Duran!❤
The rhythm is a killer and the words go well with the rhythm and chord. While singing in a male choir in college we were explained that when words and chords go well together it is a good declamation.
I was there! 💜💜💜💜💜
LOVE this song. Wished they'd play it live these days.
Beatles, Genesis, and Duran Duran, what could be greater about British Pop-rock music?
True heirs of The Beatles! This is one of their best songs.
The best part of every DD concert is the Duranies. We have a unique connection to our band and when we are all singing along it is the best thing on Planet Earth.
Definitely so.👍👍

Voglio bene quei fan ❤ quanto mi piaceva questo pezzo, fan 80's
its give me the greatest chills to hear this live.............mmmmmmmmmm DO IT AGAIN!!!
I really love the song structure in their older music. They always came up with the greatest choruses where the music suddenly switches almost like a drop in modern dance and techno.
Their harmonies are unusual because they were careful never to sound like others but being original.
@@RicardoMartinez-oh9sq Yes they deserve credit for that! You can always tell it’s them singing and they have a unique sound!
Just like the Beatles back then.
I love this song. John's bass. Simon's vocals best shit! Fan since 82.
Absolutely love the crowd reaction!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Lucky Duranies!!
this is so great, definitely time to give the hits a breather and play more songs like these along side the new music, love it!
It looks like such a fun moment in time. I love this song. It will always be a classic
My favourite
Sooo jelus of fans who got to attend the awesome rehearsals and to hear rarely played DD gems like this one. My fave frm SATRT

명곡. 1986년 중학교 1학년 겨울에 우연히 카세트에 녹음했는데 매일 불렀음..ㅎㅎ
One of their very classics !!
One of the best live concert recordings I have seen. Perfectly caught this great atmosphere. You just wish you were there just like that. And obviously, such a great song, one of my favs.
...STRABELLA!!! La vorrei a tutti i concerti, sempre, sempre!!!
Love this video, keep coming back to watch it. Thanks for uploading.
They need to play the non singles more instead of the entire Rio album. The fans would rather hear that I think, I know I would
love it. The bit when Simon plays harmonica at the end is awesome!
One of my FAVORITE Songs!!!!!
My favorite then and now
Seeing DD live is ALWAYS a treat. I've managed it what, 4 times now? I always hope they will sing "Friends of Mine", "Shadows on Your Side" and pretty much all the songs from 7 and The Ragged Tiger but it is SO rare that they do. Thank you for this treat!

It's way better than the reflex.

Is simon checking his phone at :58?

Just wish the audience didn't block the view of Simon so much.
Come on Dom. Turn up the guitar. Where’s Andy damnit
