Gaijin as a whole (rightfully) gets a lot of shit, but the people on the effects team have really been knocking it out of the park these past few updates.
A lot of times it’s the management of the game that gives the company a lot of shit. The actual developers do an amazing job. They just have shitty deadlines and stupid changes that they are forced to implement.
The problem with this game has never been the graphics. If only they put the same effort into fixing: - traction - volumetrics - server issues (ghost shells etc) - shell penetration values (rip 2018 historical shell values) - the economy

I find neat how some of the catastrophic detonations (like the Shilka at 0:36) result in the vehicle just being wiped from existence. They were really showing these new effects off in the Russian preview stream and some of the T-55/IT-1 kills just resulted in nothing but a hole in the ground, just no tank left at all.
I hope that they will do something like that for the planes. It's so stupid to kill a CAS that was coming at you at 700 km/h only to see the whole fuselage intact just crash landing near you in flames. There should be nothing f-ing left from that guy!
I think we tend to forget how big an ammo rack explosion actually would be. I’ve seen videos of Turkish leopards getting ammo racked and the resulting explosion is absolutely massive

I don't think the tanks should just explode every time they die since not every kill is an ammo rack or a fuel explosion, though the textures should still change to show that the tank is dead.
@@yuxuanhuang3523 Disagree. Then it can be confused with a set on fire, but not destroyed tank. Explosion of a disabled tank is the only reliable way to show that the tank has been destroyed. Nothing needs to be changed here, otherwise players will have problems identifying functioning enemy tanks.

Man, be honest, you haven't played the game yourself, have you? Otherwise you wouldn't say such stupid things. I don't want to shoot every tank to see if it's destroyed or just damaged and being repaired!
They can make explosions look this good, make shells stick in holes or even show the inside of hulls through holes, can add a effect for different components being dammage, or can even make terrain deformation tools for you to make a hull down position. But I STILL die semi-regularly to horrible hit registration and my shells just disappearing. Or the good old getting hit on a 100mm plate at 90° by a machine gun and it blows my tank up.
They need to throw in the occasional "5 story turret toss" to make the ork tanks believable. Mind you, they should cook off the moment they take any damage.
One of the things they should update is kill context. If you were to just kill the crew the tank shouldn’t just blow up and to those who are saying “well how can you tell you killed the target” we already have that it’s this thing that pops up on the top of the screen that says “target destroyed”
I know this isn't new to this update, but I like how sometimes when the ammo explodes, a small tongue of flame comes out of the end of the barrel right before the turret flies off
Can’t wait to get a new graphics and upgrade from playing on ulq (mine died in March and have been playing from the processor and ulq is the only thing that works).

I hope we can get effects when the crew is knocked out the tank doesn't just spontaneously detonate, but it has a different texture and maybe a raging fire to show its fuel, or engine may have been set alight rather than an explosion

War Thunder used to have that feature, it was removed late 2016 for RB, and around 2017-2018 for SB aswell.
Great for indie game. Wish batteldfield had new series. They haven't released new series since 2016 :(
