yeah apparently lawyers or PR or someone high up didn't like the ending (probably thought their governement bonds would go bad if they overthrew the government because of it)
The Israelis were the first to do this on a large scale, even before the coming of cell phones. They started in earnest after the murders of their athletes in Munich in 1972 and turned it into a fine art. A very small shaped charge of C-4 was fitted into the receiver cup and detonated by a radio signal. It's very similar to what they did to hezbollah.
@@mikeat2637 they also took out a guy known as the engineer in the 90’s in this exact way. His name was Yihya Ayash. They hid a small explosive in his cell phone and detonated it when he answered and they verified it was him on the other end.
@@chickerd4928 You're right. I've also heard that miniature copper shaped charges are occasionally used in conjunction with minute amounts of explosive to create the Munroe Effect used in anti-armor warheads.
That happened to me once. I tried to call the pizza delivery service to complain about still not receiving my order after twenty minutes waiting for it, but when it rang first, my mother-in-law grabbed the phone from me and started to berate the caller, and this happened. I survived because of her, so that's alright then.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I present the employment of what is known as a "shaped charge". Designed to focus the explosive force in a specific direction, thereby enhancing the explosive force. The explosive could be as small as the head of a pin, but focused, it'll open a standard door lock like it was made of balsa wood. And that explosive force was applied to the side of her SKULL.

This jump scare totally shocked me, the first time I watched this movie. Not only did I leap up from where I was sitting, I think I almost fell over. (So of course I had to replay it a gazillion times -- it was a DVD -- to try to re-experience that shock.) A side comment -- the couple from *Just Trust Ash* (2:24) began to react *before* the phone exploded. Either their editing was slightly off, or they'd seen the movie already and knew what was coming.
The ending ruined this great movie. Butler should of won. The system is corrupt. And it ends by him being corrupt and winning. Wtf! Went against its own message. Bs! I want a refilm of the ending done the way it should of been in the first place!
Great movie until the ending 👎 should have let the antihero win imo, ruins it for me with the sugarcoated hollywood ending of the "good guy" and the government/law enforcement winning, but learning a valuable life lesson along the way of course😑
Payback comes in all shapes and sizes. She paid in full in one shot and it was mind blowing how much it was gonna cost her. As a result she had a real headache and no way to cure it.
Clyde was like a magician! While you're focused on his right hand he's strangling you with his foot!😂😂😂 Nikki has a thiccness about her that's awesome! Dude's lucky!
This is a straight up unexpected scene where you expect a call to come in informing them of something terrible or a trap to put her in danger, few expect the phone to be the danger.

The judge should have let that call go to voice mail
The call was so important that made the judge a more open-minded person.
Lol😂
Literally 🤣.
That's some dark ass humor! 😂
Fuhhhhhh lmfao 🤣 😂
Some would even say that she lost her mind when she answered that phone call 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"That is the best prank call I've ever seen" 😂😂😂
Nice 😂
Law Abiding Citizen, probably one of the only movies where I actively was rooting for the bad guy the entire movie 😂
You and almost everyone else.
You rooted for Jamie Foxx's character?
And they ruined it with the ending. Corruption wins.
@@kimniceHa!

most of the time anyway
I've watched this movie probably twenty times, and this part never gets old.
Probably one of the most effective jump scares that isn't in a horror movie.
Best jump scare in a non-horror movie ever
“She got killed by a phone call” 😮🤣 is a crazy line
0:25 - Do not apologize. it is your natural/original reaction that I'm after. It was awesome, and I replayed it several times.
I love Nikki and Steven - they had the perfect reaction to this whole movie
Agreed
They're one of the best. Fun commentary without too much overreacting or talking over the whole movie
when Ash said "open your mind judge!!" 🤣🤣🤣
I always stop this movie right before the end and pretend he got away with all of it lol
This is one of those movies that I would have liked an alternative ending for. I was in the same boat as you.
I’m also a member of that club. I’ve stopped watching the ending after the first viewing.

Israel took this idea to a whole different level.
Pager Danger. New Jewish death metal band.

Well that's one way to hold a dirty judge accountable through their judicial immunity.
Law abiding citizen is probably one of the most brutal thrillers of all time
Such a fantastic movie. The ending sucks, but it's still worth watching.
In the original ending he wins, his plan actually goes thru. They changed ending cause they can't have someone win against the government.
Yea. True that. I was so disappointed.

I forgot just how shocking this death scene was thanks for bringing this back to my attention

It's like MOSSAD saw this scene and season 3 of The Wire...
Is there anyone else here on the side of Clyde Shelton in this entire movie?
Everybody is.

Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.

Kinda funny some are like, with a cell phone? I guess these were recorded prior to the IDF blowing up 3000 pagers and radios in Lebanon.

No, you're not the only one. His girlfriend annoys me more than he does but I don't like him either. I skip his clips as well.
Whenever I hear Ash, I can’t help thinking of Sasha Baron Cohen’s character “Ali G”.

Only two things were wrong with is movie. Jamie Foxx and the cruddy ending.
