Hello, Jayson! I'm new here in Taiwan. Landed just last May and I'm currently working as a factory worker. One of the reasons I applied here is bcos I also wanna continue my studies here. Probably a master's or any diploma/certificate courses, whichever is available. The thing that I'm really curious about studying here is whether I could work simultaneously or do I have to wait for my work contract to end first before applying for school? If that's possible, would I be eligible for a scholarship if 'foreign working-student' here is a thing? I hope you'll notice this comment. Thank you so much!!!
Hi, you can apply for a scholarship even if you're currently working. Then if you get a scholarship then you can decide which one to choose continue working or study full time. The government scholarships are only for full time students. Do not resign yet if you haven't received any scholarship so that you can re apply next year for available scholarships. Universities in Taiwan also give fully funded scholarships. So apply to government scholarships and university scholarships at the same time. Good luck
Additional info if you're currently a factory worker at any company in tw they will not allow you to study while working with them especially if that's the reason why you were able to come in tw. So
@@jaysonDfernandez Thank you Jayson for taking your time to reply me with all these information! Will keep them in mind. I just started working here so maybe I'll finish my contract first before I try my luck in applying for school (and scholarship). Good luck on your studies! ✨

Hi, I remember they had asked me about my GPA when they were choosing the scholars. I think above 3.5 for undergrad, and above 4.0 for grad. This is just my opinion you may email teco for further information.
Thanks for the response. I read it's 3.0 for the undergrad and 3.5 for grad. I think it is based on 4.5 scale GPA. However, it's hard to find an equivalent of these figures online. By any chance, do you know the equivalent of 3.5 in percentage? Thank you.
Hi Glenda, yes most of the government scholarships are fully funded scholarships and universities also provide fully funded scholarships too. Just browse on their respective websites.

Hello Rejie, you need to apply for an admission to any universities here in Tw. Then, if you got accepted the uni will give you an admission letter. After that, you can apply for a student visa at the TW embassy in the Philippines.
