Well, I know your comment was rethorical, but essentially they sit back and listen to the song, concentrating on all the various parts of the song and think, "What if I changed this this and this? Does this sound unique to the original song, or is it too off?" so on and so forth. it's a hell of an art, lemme tell you.

Artistique Zefyre the vocals from sad machine (the human vocals, not avanna) is actually not by porter robinson, it's part of the EDEN project! if you search up 'porter robinson sad machine EDEN acapella' or something like that you can download just the human vocals of the song :D
