    • LPWAN Part 1. Criteria...
    LoRa Vs LoRaWAN
    LoRa stands for Long Range
LoRaWAN stands for Long Range Wide-Area Network and is a network protocol that is built on top of the LoRa technology
LoRa is a wireless modulation technology targeted for long range
    M2M and IoT communication.
LoRa modulation = CHIRP Spread Spectrum + Freq Mod
Operates in the unlicensed ISM bands all around the world
LoRa contains only the link layer protocol and is used in P2P communications between nodes. LoRa modules are a little cheaper that the LoRaWAN.
LoRaWAN includes the network layer so it is possible to send the information to any Base Station already connected to a Cloud platform. LoRaWAN modules may work in different frequencies by connecting the right antenna to it.
    Characteristics of LoRaWAN
    Receiver Sensitivity: -142 dBm
    Link budget = tx pwr - Rx Sen = 14dBm - (-142 dB) = 156 dB
Low bandwidth and low data rates from 300bps to 50kbps
    Low battery (Power) usage
    Supports
    secure bi-directional communication,
    mobility
Strong indoor penetration: With High Spreading Factor, Up to 20dB
    penetration. (deep indoor)
Occupies the entire bandwidth of the channel to broadcast a signal, making it robust to channel noise.
