- In this video I review the mac mini m1. I have the 16gb ram version instead of the regular 8gb of ram.
This is an incredible machine with one very annoying downfall that I will look past because of how much I enjoy using it (especially for video editing).
This video was edited on the Mac Mini M1 that I talk about in this video in FCPX.
Would I recommend getting this product? Yeppers!

How's the situation now? I'm gonna buy it soon !!!
Great video! Appreciate your honest review. I am coming from a 27” iMac late 2013 and just ordered the M1 Mac mini. How is your monitor holding up? Does it swivel? And did you self teach yourself FInal Cutpro? I am making the leap from iMovie.
Still enjoying the M1 Mac Mini! In fact I'm using it to respond right now haha. The monitor is going good, no it doesn't swivel. And yes I taught myself FCPX. My method of learning was from watching lots and lots of youtube videos and then practicing. Using the program and trying to do something and realizing you don't know how to do something and then looking up the answer is the best way for me to learn.
@@RDGMT Thanks for the quick response. I tend to do that a lot as well. I also noticed you talked about the minimal Lag on your Keyboard and Mouse. I heard the BT Apple mouse and Keyboard won't have as much as the lag.
@@rickthompson8906 I have definitely considered switching over to the official apple keyboard and mouse but enjoy the ergonomics of the Logitech ones I have and it's not so bad that I can't stand it and need to switch. But that's good to know about it being better with the apple mouse and keyboard. Thanks for the info!
I like your videos and
it's not fair because you have 560 subs with this great content at least you Need 20k subs
Hey thanks! That means a lot and hearing comments like this helps me want to continue making content.
@@RDGMT bro don't listen to this guy. At least 20k subs? Na. You deserve at least 100k. Quality content
@@ea9849 You guys are both awesome! I appreciate the kind words and I'll keep making videos best I can!
It’s a amazing computer! Super fast. True value for money 💰 16GB is the way to go. When all the apps run natively, it will be untouchable. It’s way faster than any Intel Mac I’ve owned.
Is it comfortable with 6k footage ?
I use mine with the Apple keyboard and mouse, they work flawlessly, no Bluetooth issues at all…
I had my Mac Mini M1 16GB for 3 months now, and I've never had a Bluetooth issue not even once (literally not even once) I use the MX Keys & MX Master 3. I feel lucky haha, I don't know how everyone has an issue with the Bluetooth
Man I am really jealous haha. Seriously the Mac mini m1 is awesome!!! And I really enjoy using it, my only issue has been those connection problems. Everything else has been awesome!
@@RDGMT Yeah! I still can't believe that I don't have that issue!
I had a 2011 iMac 21.5" with High Sierra and was waiting for the new iMac. Once I saw the specs and the price I went for the M1 Mac mini. Personally, I could not be happier. I had all the peripherals. No major Bluetooth issues but I have a wired mouse and $15 keyboard which work great.
Glad you're enjoying your M1 Mac Mini as well! And without the bluetooth issues!!! I'm jealous :D
I have a 2018 Mac Mini Intel i5 (Big Sur) and my Logitech K811 bluetooth keyboard has the same issue where it's working completely fine for days, then on some rare occasion, it will loose it's connection and the keys I've pressed don't register. After a few seconds, the blue light blinks, and it comes back.
Irritating.
May be worse on M1 Mini, or maybe it's the same.
Oh, and now you just mentioned that you've heard it happened on previous versions.
I have noticed that the disconnects seem less frequent since I moved my Mini to the underside of my desk rather than on top of the desk right behind the keyboard.
Unfortunate that apple hasn’t fixed such a big issue for the Mac mini in so many years. I do have mine right behind my keyboard, I might try placing it underneath my desk and see how that goes. Thanks for the idea!
@@RDGMT There are great under desk mounts to you can get off Amazon, though they wouldn't work for me because of the kind of desk I have. So I had to attach a piece of luan (which is inexpensive) to the underside first, to span the area, attached the mount to that, and then I found that I had a great little shelf on top of the luan to place my connected external drives, getting them off the desk as well..
Very interesting I’ve never heard of using luan before. I’ll do some research into it, thanks! Also... Happy Memorial Day!
For those who don't know luan, it's kind of in between veneer (really nice woods sliced very thin and glued to plywood to make it look nice and make it stainable) and plywood, which is laminated in layers, so it's more stable than actual wood, which will warp and twist. Plywood won't. Luan is the stuff you find at the back of your kitchen cabinets.
A nice thing about luan is that it's like drywall in that you can score'n'snap. That is, you can "cut" it by running a sharp utility blade across it and then snap it clean. (Though it takes more of a score than with drywall.) So if you don't have tools like a circular saw (I gave mine away), you can still cut it easily. Plus, being a thin type of plywood, it's stable as firetruck.
Has the Bluetooth problem been fixed?
Still a few problems here and there
Bro I am gonna buy my first gaming keyboard I think am going with duky (I was going to buy a razer huntsman mini but I changed my mind BC of the purple switchs problem) anyway ther are so many different and good switches and I can't choose one Can you advise me so I can shoose the best switch for me ( budget 130$)
There’s sooooo many options it’s crazy! Honestly I’m a big fan of gk61 and rk61. For me I really enjoy the usability of blue switches but they are too loud for me. Due to that I go with white switches. They don’t tend to be as loud. If noise is no issue though then for myself I would be using blue switches all day haha
@@RDGMT @RDGMT I was going for a blue switch just for the sound but ther is a bit better than them finnaly after 2h of searching I am gonna shoose one of those 3
1 ttc bluish white
2 Everglide Oreo
3 Gateron brown
They are not so loud as the blue switchs they have that clicky noise go search And give me your opinion and choose the best please (price doesn't matter)
@@RDGMT that's the video for theme

I had never heard of those ttc bluish white keys before, they look pretty awesome to me! I’d go with those
It MUST be Logitech products. Every reviewer with this issue names Logitech accessories. I purposely avoided Logitech when shopping for my peripherals after watching so many people having issues. I use other brands and have not had any Bluetooth problems.
Which brand of keyboard and mouse do you use with the mac mini? I might be interested in switching. Thanks!
@@RDGMT Satechi Slim W1 Wired Backlit Keyboard. I wanted backlighting but most of those were gaming or for PC’s. This one also came with a $10 coupon for $49.
@@sharonb.9128 Thank you! I'm gonna do some research on this keyboard. I appreciate the info :)
@@RDGMT sorry I just noticed I gave you the WIRED one🤦🏼♀️they have Bluetooth that must be sold out.
Oh no worries, thanks for the heads up
