An American hero and a great man of conscience. God bless this man for his values, courage and faith. One of my true heros, along with the great man, Dr. Cornel West.
Have just read War Is The Greatest Evil by Chris Hedges. Had to stop at the end of every page just to fully realize what I had read. Should be required reading for any person thinking of joining the armed services.
As for the date if one Googles this video's title (Chris Hedges at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles) one quickly discovers it was from June 28, 2012. I don't know why it matters since what he says not when he said it is important.
I think it matters what he has to say rather than whether it was given today or 10 or 20 ...years ago. As for context it shouldn't be difficult to understand the events of the last few decades. If he speaks - I haven't watched it yet - about his experience in Sarajevo when NATO was attacking the former Yugoslavia do you need that context explained for you. Whether he relates his experience of 1999 today or 25 years ago is rather irrelvant do you not think? Would you object to a reprint of Orwell's 1984?
Cgris Hedges is a beacon of sanity & truth to the world; he fully realizes how unpopular & dangerous being the kind of human that he is; and the world is abetter place because of him
In the coming period of AI driven Technofeudalism as both Yanis Varoufakas and Whitney Webb call it voices of truth especially as powerful as Chris Hedges.....I don't want to finish this sentence.
Chris Hedges for me is like lookin' in a mirror without my guitar and seeing myself as a human with a college🎓 degree given me an essence of higher learning, even though I don't even have a high school diploma.

One counts very few honest, principled and moralist people, like Chris Hedges, in this bleakest time in America.
A Great American!!!
Shared. I hope that at least one of my Facebook group watches this excellent presentation by Chris Hedges.
I wish I was your FB friend but they've permanently shadow blocked me for posting videos like this. Good luck.
The video should list the date.

Exactly. It doesn't matter when it's from.
How many years old is this? Why is it being reposted here today? How absurd to upload this devoid of any context or temporal situation.
Agreed. I didn't know Truthdig still existed.

A presbitero is a "Priest" not as Tyndale suggested, an "old man."
Click bait, no date. Trying to get people to think it is CURRENT. Not cool. It's from 2012.
I wonder how many of these comments has been deleted by the Google / RUclips algorithm.
This powerful trot down modern memory lane is as poignant as ever. The “well of the good” seeming drawn dry…
