All the people are there most likely due to the first case called, Luke Edwards, who is accused of murdering his wife. Right after his hearing is when the judge says they can leave. I found news reports about it and it does say he was found competent by Judge Simpson.
Thanks for the info and update. I knew nothing about this case. I was wondering what simpson was talking about. I was confused. I thought all the people were there for the 2nd case for some reason. I thought they just took the 1st case bc he was in a wheelchair. That's what I get for thinking lol 😮.
That defense attorney, so quick on his feet, maybe….he mighta thought of it that morning when his client asked where he needed to go. Nevertheless the pac man ghosting was hilarious 😂
I guess Magistrate Fink just felt like effin' w/ goofy dude that day then. "You don't need to wear this court ordered tether placed on you, sir. Good day."
luke edwards jr. of ypsilanti, mi called his stepdaughter before dawn on april 11th to tell her he had made an attempt on his own life. she visited him in the hospital, where he asked her to go and check on the house. she later said this was a weird request, but she did as she was asked. there was no sign of forced entry. she found her mother dead on the floor of the kitchen. she'd been stabbed repeatedly and was cold and stiff. the knife was from the block on the kitchen counter and was on the floor by her feet. a handwritten note that said "forgive me father" was laid on her body. something's not right upstairs. but something not being right _doesn't_ mean he's not guilty by reason of insanity or incompetent to stand trial. if he stabbed his wife, it's clear that his sudden request for his stepdaughter to check on the house was to direct her to find her dead mother on the floor. all the assessments have to be completed before they can continue with due process.
Hmmm ..I don't know about that. Seems some repeat offenders sure work hard to get to spend a lot of their time there, that makes me think otherwise. lolol
The packed gallery at the beginning is mysterious. As soon as Simpson announced that disruptive behavior won't fly, and calls the first case (the wheelchair guy), the crowd in the background starts thinning out. Was there a case we didn't see? Was the mere announcement about good behavior enough to get people to leave? Why were they there to begin with? I watch a lot of live court footage, it's a favorite hobby. Never seen anything like this before.
Could this judge maybe do extra work so we can watch more videos? I love watching him because he’s so kind, caring, and funny, but direct and tough when he needs to be. I’m sure he would want to do that just for people like me in miserably hot Texas and other places across the country. LOL!! He’s the best!!
Judge Simpson has a yt channel and streams it live All. Day. Long. Soooo ... if you're wanting to see more of his work, just find his channel to watch instead of just clips uploaded by channel creators who edit out the boring stuff.
I disagree with Judge here on tether. If complainant has moved and nobody knows her new address, what's the point of the GPS tether without an area to avoid?!
@@probablynotmyname8521 Well, la-di-da!!! I don't really know what the point is other than the moment and timing sort of caught everyone at the right time and it was nice to laugh out loud with all the folks in the courtroom...Anyway 🤔
An explanation of the packed court and what was going on in that case? With no bond etc. I’m certain it’s not good. Also he stated there were multiple cases that people were there for ? ? All clear as mud for those of us who haven’t followed everything. Thanks to anyone that can give info.
He murdered his wife , left her on the floor with a note. I believe he told the daughter to check the home , which she said was strange. So she found her dead mom on the floor
14:00 Just because there _hasn’t_ been doesn’t mean that won’t change once the tether comes off. Sometimes defence lawyers say some really stupid things.
they work with what they've got. and in any case, we don't have thought police. you can't be punished for something you haven't done yet. depending on the allegations in the underlying case, it can sometimes be _predicted_ what will happen, but you know what i mean.
um okay so what was the scene at the beginning with the super-packed courtroom, but then when the cases started, totally the usual half-empty courtroom and different defendants. this is a weird edit / fake-out to do not sure what it added, except of course this comment.
PLEASE Stop playing with your hairpiece!! Your in court!! It's common sense, Be respectful in court you had to have been raised knowing how to be . Unbelievable.
lol based on what he said, i think what's going on is that they can't get the thing small enough. he's got skinny little ankles and the thing is banging around on there bruising it up like a skip-it

I love Judge Simpson I love when he’s happy his smile is contagious ❤
I love judge Simpson, he knows when to have fun, be serious, but he also cares while being fair
Best judge ever! ❤
He'd have to be one of the best judges to come up in front of, until you disrespect him. Then he'd be one of the worst.
He's not really reasonable when it comes to landlord/tenant stuff, but he's good for everything else.

Does the man in the wheelchair need a psych eval?
They did one and are waiting for the second part - the criminal responsibility which is why they got the adjournment.
