Sable Dam Overnight Sleepover Hide Near Phalaborwa Gate
The Sable Dam Hide, is a Hide that doubles as accommodation, and you can book here to stay overnight. This offers a true authentic bush experience. The Sable Dam Overnight Sleep Over Hide is situated on the banks of Sable Dam, on the S51 dirt road, less than 10 kilometres from Phalaborwa Gate.
At various times of the year you can see a lot of bird life here, and Lion, Elephant and Leopard are often seen. You can hear the solitary Hippo at night, as well as other amazing noises. Sable Dam Hide has braai facilities, a boma, ablutions and of course pull out beds, to make that stay magical. In winter it can get cold at night, and in summer it is often closed, especially after heavy rains, so try and avoid staying there between January and March if possible, just in case.
A special note: Guests have access to the Hide for an hour after the gates open, so you can relax and enjoy the sun rise, perhaps with a hot drink.
