I just got a pair of KZ AS-10 and impressed by its
deep bass. But my pair seems have very high
sensitivity. I only only need several clicks of volume
on my MacBook to make it sounds really loud. Could
anyone also have KZ AS-10 verify it is normal for
    this IEM? Thanks 😊

@Andrew Miller Owning both the ZS10s And the AS10s I would say that the bass in the ZS10s while stronger isn't nearly as accurate. The sound stage is bigger with more separation between instruments and placement with the AS10s. For some reason the mids are less pronounced with the AS10s but that's a good thing because they allow more clarity within your typical vocal ranges. Meaning at the 8khz and 600Hz range the ZS10s are a little over boosted. At around the 1k through 4k range the AS10s have more clarity without being fatiguing. Mid range fatigue isn't something that's talked about much but with modern DSP tech, it's usually boosted to appear to have stronger bass then what is actually capable, given the driver setup and the tuning profile particular to that headset or speaker. AS10s are very flat in profile with strong unmuddied bass. And they are loud and efficient. With a headphone amplifier they are extremely loud but at moderate volumes they are so pristine and accurate, I feel they don't have a peer below the $500 range. And even without an amplifier they are stupid accurate and really don't have a peer below $300 or $400 dollars. I highly recommend these. These have an odd break in. Sibilance is present, albiet low for the first hour of listening and then it's just gone. Bass gets stronger after a couple of hours of break in. With Armatures I don't know why that is but it's there all the same. It could be a resonance thing with the chassis vibrations ceasing or becoming more accurate with regards to the drivers.

Yeah some people speak too much about scooped sound waves. Every speaker or headset I've ever listened to is scooped by some measure. Whether it is or isn't designates how warm or hot the it will actually sound regardless of what the sound signature actually looks like. The more boosted the lower mids the warmer it will sound. This is usually boosted for a lack of low end definition. You'll usually think the bass sounds flabby at higher volumes. A boosted mid-high range will make the speaker or headphone sound more forward or if there's too much, ti will sound too hot. The attack of the vocals will be more present, which is good, but also center channel mixes being more "on top" rather than forward, which is bad. With the ZS10s these characteristics aren't terribly noticeable. It's just barely there and can be tuned out very easily, even with a non gain control equalizer. The ZS10s are an excellent buy and if you long for Beats or SkullCrusher audio profiles or any with strong bass presence, then you'll like them. Their accuracy is great, just not as great as the AS10s. The way the AS10s deliver bass.... it just sounds more accurate while only losing 2Hz from the ZS10s 16HZ undistorted reproduction. Both are capable of Distortion free bass below 20Hz and trust me you've got be playing quite loud to do it. But the AS10's have absolutely NO boominess at all while the ZS10s sound...breathier? Not boomy, just....not accurate.

@@aaronmorgan8864 I'll most likely be sticking to chifi for a few years as I'm on a strict budget. I might open my wallet if high driver count iems develop a better balance of sound. Currently kz's high driver count models all feature some amount of sibilance or harshness on the highs according to reviews. Ultimately I'm waiting for all these Chinese companies to drive prices down or create additional value on their sub 100 dollar iems. Otherwise if some cheap planar magnetics come out I'll be tempted. I MAY look into the nicer end of earbuds like ve monks somewhere down the road as the soundstage should be different to iems

For those who buy it for non professional use: you will hear more detail when listening to some lossless (flac, alac) audio format, than say MP3. Also some cheap computer built-in sound cards will not produce enough detail. Good phone may bring better result, sometimes (like in my case) better than a computer.

Johnny Christian I think the as10’s are on another level completely from the Shure se215’s. I’ve owned multiple pairs of the se215’s over the years and they’re not a bad entry level IEM but the soundstage on the as10 will smoke the se215’s. One thing I can’t speak to is the durability of the as10. They last a long time but I’ve only had them for a month. The shure se215’s have a proven track record of being very road worthy. But I’m sure as a vocalist the as10’s will be much more enjoyable for you.

I have the Shure SE215. I can definitely recommend them to you. I'm a guitarist and vocalist. They may have just one driver, but it's a dynamic driver meaning it covers the full frequency spectrum. The build quality is phenomenal, They've lasted me 2 years now, and they come with a 3 sizes of rubber tips and 3 more sizes of foam tips. Also great quality. Since they only have 1 driver, they'll also have a much smaller casing, meaning they'll form to your ear better. I would go for the Shure's, they may only have 1 driver, but the quality makes up for it.

Will Pancake I agree on the build quality and durability. Shure se215s are solid in that regard, also smaller form factor like you mentioned. But if sound quality is important you’ve got to hear the difference between the 215’s and the kz as10

to my ear I think the AS10's are much better in terms of sound quality than the SE215's but as some have noted they are much larger so the fit may not be as great. I personally don't have an issue with the fit so I'd go AS10 any day over the 215's but thats not to say the 215's aren't a great IEM as well

    • @vocalead
      @vocalead 6 лет назад +2

Los Amigos A.S.G. The Shure 215 have only one driver (one speaker per ear). The KZ AS10 have 5 drivers (5 speakers per ear). More drivers means more definition, so that is a very significant difference. Also, the Shure SE215’s driver is dynamic, whereas the AS10’s are balanced armature (higher quality). So really, spec-wise there is no point of comparison, the AS10’s are way better. My recommendation as many youtubers are saying is get the AS10s and get the foam tips by Znaro, it’ll cost like $10 more but it’ll be totally worth it.

please consider to explain what kind of setup you are using to listen to them. I could not get this review very serious. here is why, you know you can compare a formula 1 car versus a mini cooper and tell us that you reached 1 km distance with mini cooper in 1 minute and with the formula 1 in 1,5 minute... if we don't know what kind of source (sound format, bit rate etc.) & device (DAC, headphone amp..) you are using we can assume you compared f1 and mini cooper in Italy city streets and get those results. I would expect to see them compared in a race track, where f1 could use all its potential. I hope you get what I mean. now after watching it I can not be sure if you used 64 audios all potential to compare them so can not get a clear idea. i have some headphones, let me tell you, you can not tell much difference between my over usd 1k sennheiser HD800 vs. cheap stock Samsung earphones (those tunes by AKG) to justify the huge price gap if you JUST connect them to the mobilephone and listen even you may like the stock ones more since hd800 are not possible get driven by the phone. But if you use the appropriate equipment to juice the hd800 it is totally another world compared to the stock earphones... so please next time tell use how do you compare them, so we can be sure you do a correct comparison and get more ideas and benefit more out of your effort and time. thank you

Hey noyan, thanks for stopping by. I'm generally using three sources, my 2014 macbook pro, iConnect Audio 4+ interface and Sennheiser G3 wireless IEM. Like I mentioned I'm not an audiophile and don't use expensive DAC's or amps to listen to music. My comparison is based on my personal real world use which happens to be mostly live performance with the iConnect Audio 4+ or the Sennheiser G3 wireless IEM. I sort of understand your analogy of the F1 vs the Mini Cooper but I don't really believe you should have to buy a bunch of expensive gear to make your already expensive gear sound great. Meaning if I pay $900 for 64 audio in ears I don't want to have to spend a bunch more for a high end DAC or amp just to get great sound out of them. However I DO understand listening to music with those $900 IEMs will sound better if I happen to have a nice DAC or better audio source in general. Most people are not buying DAC's or amps when listening to music so it's hard to argue that you NEED those tools to perceive some quantitative difference in IEMs. I hope this clears things up a bit, my sources explained and my real world usage.

"Audiophile" typically refers to solutions that are closer to neutral in tuning and offer soundstage/instrument separation. ES4's are VERY GOOD and FUN iem's but do NOT reproduce the music in a neutral manner. My ES4's are perhaps my favorite iem's to just throw in and go out and about, so fun and nice sounding. They are NOT what I would recommend for professional music work and heavily boost bass, sub bass, and recess the mids hard. If you are looking for some quality earbuds for the price, the ES4's were my #1 recommended for awhile. If you're coming from shitty earbuds like apple ones then you'll be floored with how amazing they sound. I'm positive you'll be quite happy with your purchase, but you may end up being less satisfied if you keep dumping money into "audiophile" quality iem's down the road (depending on your tastes). I personally do not enjoy "audiophile" buds and look for more V/U tuned profiles.
      Just a heads up ;)

Aaron, I'm a worship leader who plays acoustic guitar mainly and sometimes electric. Also trying to determine usage my team members who play bass, keys and drummers on my team first and then next our vocalists. Trying to get everyone the best and clearest sound I can for the $$$ while using a X32 board and Behringers P16 IEM Units. Currently we have done Shure 215s for most members and 425s for a smaller group due to cost. I've had a lot of friends recommend KZs to give better IEMs to team members for lower cost. Between the KZ ZS10s and KZ AS10s which ones do you recommend most for this type of usage?

I'm not a content creator, but I know there are independant mics you can plug in directly to your phone for QUITE cheap online. These may help you increase your quality with minimal investment/extra workflow procedures.

What a joke, they're 62 dollars for a reason. Heck, they're not even worth the price you spend. My 10$ dollar Panasonics sound better than that crap. Got mine today, not impressed at all. Not even satisfied either, the sound signature is weird with a hollow sound stage, very weak base response, almost non-existent. 😕 the only thing that shines is the mid frequencys with vocals. Nothing special at all. Just watch how fast I'll be returning these! 😂
