Hi Curtis, Sonia, Dusty and Sandy, I pray you guys are well and prepping for some family time, still enjoying the Kruger, marvelling at the awesome wildlife, safe travels 🥾🥾
We are all very well, thank you! 😊 We're indeed slowing down and getting ready to spend time with loved ones over this time. No long-distance trips for us planned for December, we'll tackle those again in the new year! 🚙🤩 I hope you're also taking it easy or at least slowing down to eventually take it easy!
Hi guys lovely chilled day after the storm. The storm damage has its advantages making it easier to feed. Two leopard sightings this trip .those macadam nuts were cheap however wonderful champagne breakfast surrounded by wildlife. Interesting grave of the chief 7 wives and 102 grandchildren. The views on the road to pretorius camp were amazing. Real life with the injured zebra looked like snare damage!!! .slush puppies worldwide lol .searching for jocks birth place brought back memories for me .plenty of fish Eagles on the trip and the display swooping mind-blowing I was willing it to catch a fish. The road was empty as I remember it in the 70s the young waterbok almost touching distance. Loved the tent and the braai could almost smell the damp air from the much needed rain. Nothing can beat the Kruger Park for me and I know I'm in great company with you guys. Thanks for taking me along cheerio till the next one
You're making me wish that I knew the Park in the 70's when the roads were still quiet for the most part. Kruger in 2024 is a different kettle of fish altogether, and I'm not always so sure it's for the better. But we'll always love the place! 😍🚙 The fish eagle over the dam was fantastic to see and we were certainly spoilt with sightings of this fantastic bird on this trip. We thank you for your company, as always.
Looks like a lovely day all round. I can smell that rain...well all the burnt areas eill go green overnight. Those warthogs did look very thin to me and that poor zebra. Ugh 😢 sending you both lotsa love ❤🎉❤
One of my happiest memories as a child was hearing and seeing a fish eagle for the first time on the shores of Kariba. Still my most favourite bird. For me, the call of Africa. Lovely footage.
Indeed a lovely chilled, slow-paced day in paradise rounded-off perfectly with a cool downpour at camp. Sure beats a day at the office in the Strand! Keen to see what day nine holds in store ........
As much as we love Strand, we'd much, much rather be back in Kruger! 😍 We enjoyed taking it a little easier and slower than usual, it's the perfect place for that. We're keen to have you join us for Day 9! 😁🚙
Hi julle lekker dag vandag het die uitstappie baie geniet. Curtis dankie dat jy als so mooi in zoom vir ons om ook te sien. Baie bly vir die reen wat daar geval het. Mooi loop en wees veilig
Quite a bit of rain fell, which made us, and all the wildlife I'm sure, super happy! 🤩🌧️ It's my pleasure to bring to you the sheer beauty and magnificence of Kruger, as best as my equipment and ability allow. Thank you for watching! 👌🏻🚙
I see you found your older comment! 😁 It really doesn't matter where you post it, I just may miss it if it's under someone else's. Yeah, those warthogs were rather lean, and surprisingly all three of them. And they looked young to us. As for the poor injured zebra, I'll never understand the cruelty of humankind, especially towards defenceless animals. 😥🦓 We can only hope it, and the warthogs, are doing well. You could indeed smell the rain, our little section of the earth got a good shower that day! 😍🌧️
Another lovely experience a peek at the Leopard again and a amazing variety of animals. Ay least the Giraffe could eat from the ground after that wild storm. Those fish eagle were stunning they put up a lovely show allbeit because of that strong wind. The elephant in the water wasn't something you see everyday (keeping cool) . The rain was very welkom. Thank you so much for this episode. 😊❤
It was literally just a peek at that leopard, it was so well-camouflaged! But a peek counts, and we were super happy to see it. 😍🐆 The fish eagle sighting was another highlight of Day 8. 🦅 It's so difficult to pick highlights because we loved and appreciated every little living thing we got to see.
Lovely trip, very relaxing indeed. Beautiful shots of the Fish Eagles 🎉 I was so hoping he'd swoop and catch a fish! Next time 😅 Glad you got back to camp before the storm hit! Lovely rain for the Park and Animals ❤ Bye bye for now 😊
I was super chuffed to get some more fish eagles, I just couldn't get enough! 😍🦅 Yup, our timing was good for once and we were safely back in camp when the heavens opened up. It was so good to see so much water fall though! 🚙🌧️
Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying watching our Kruger trip while you wait for yours to arrive. You must be super excited and counting down the months already. Nothing beats looking forward to a Kruger trip, except the Kruger trip itself! 😝🚙
We cant wait but we also to plan to travel southern Africa and to bring our 4x4 over and leave it over there at family we have in south Africa You time in Kruger as been a great watch and wish we were there now as the weather in the Uk is damp and cold and goes dark at 3.30 in the afternoon Kruger is our favourite place.
Wow the storm was crazy.glad we saw a leopard. We saw quite a lot of wildlife which made this trip worth so much! Thank you I enjoyed this trip and am looking forward to the next trip
We saw enough of the leopard to make it count as seeing one! 😁🐆 We were desperate to see them and they were even more elusive than usual. They're such magnificent cats and we always love seeing them! I'm chuffed that you're still enjoying our Kruger journey.
Hi Curtis, Sonia, Dusty, and Sandy. Another excellent video. Highlight was the fish eagle soaring over the water. As I was watching I was thinking it would be magical to see it swoop down and lift a fish out the water. And then you said the same thing. Sad about the injured zebra . So senseless to try and capture a fine animal. Did you get feedback from the park officials that it had, in fact, been attended to perhaps. ? Im glad of rain there in the park and it wasn't accompanied by the strong gusty winds of the previous day Fortunately your campsite escaped the brunt of the storm judging by the number of broken/ downed trees.
Hello there! There is unfortunately no way to follow up on a situation like the one of the injured zebra and get accurate info. We've tried before in similar situations without success, so we resign ourselves to the outcome once we've reported the matter. I agree with you, it's completely senseless human behaviour. 😥🦓 I thought you might be happy about the glorious rain that fell, it's so very much needed in our beloved Park. The fish eagle was most certainly a highlight for me too of Day 8. If possible, I'm even more in awe of that magnificent bird than before. 😍🦅
It was so good to travel with you guys and seeing all the very familiar sights, i.e. the dusty roads, the dams, Jocks birthplace and more. So sickening to see the poor Zebra. It must have suffered greatly. We know what a storm is like in Skukuza. In 2018 we were caught in a massive hailstorm and the weight of all the hail crunched our caravan tents and poles. It was terrifying. Looking forward to day 9.
We felt very sorry for the poor zebra, such needless suffering all at the hands of human beings. 😥🦓 I'll never understand it. Your 2018 storm sounds rough, luckily we didn't have hail in the mix too. At one point I thought our tent would blow away! I'm glad you're enjoying the roads of Kruger with us. 🚙😁
Those mountains are outside park, is where Panorama route is at Graskop Gorge, God's Window, Echo Caves, Blyde River Canyon, and all waterfalls. Hope one you will explore the sites
The poor zebra was caught in a snare set by poachers and it was still around its neck. I'm not sure they would've been able to treat and save it, but I really hope they were able to help it out of its misery somehow. 😥🦓 The bird on yellow stilts is indeed a Wattled Lapwing. The name Ledeboer rings a bell. We may have seen it last year, but i don't recall it on our recent trip. The upcoming videos, which are still to be edited, may prove me wrong though! 😁 I hope that your dinner was as good as our burgers were that night!
So glad to see a leopard. Amazing the way they blend into the background. Sjoe! But that storm certainly did some damage. All equines can twitch every inch of their skin to shake off flies.so sad about chief Nyongane. But yes, some of our history is very 😢 so shocking to see the poor zebra with the snare. Thank you for doing the right thing. You seem to be seeing a lot of buffalo. What's the difference between a buffalo and a bison? Ever tried washing your hands in a buffalo?
The poor zebra was really suffering and broke our hearts. 😥🦓 Google says there are several differences, including the hump, horns, beard, coat, size, etc. We've seen both and both are super impressive. Bison are huge though! 😳🐂 I somehow feel the washing of hands in a buffalo is lost on me, but the short answer is no. 🤣
Vertel seblief? Mooi dag waar ook al julle is. Elna
You're super lucky to have gone every year for almost 25 years! 🤩 We can't stay away now either, especially after having rediscovered it again last year after an absence of 19 long years. You're always very welcome on our backseat. 😁🚙 I film all our videos with my everyday cellphone, a Samsung S22 Ultra, mounted on a selfie-stick. It does the job just fine for us.
Been watching a while! Enjoying the vids a lot, especially the Kruger ones! How do you animate your Kruger map showing the route, if you don't mind me asking?
I don't mind you asking. 😁 I use Da Vinci Resolve for our map animation. I'm glad you're enjoying our Kruger series, it's our pleasure to share it with you. 😍🚙
Glad you both got home before the rain did you hear anything more about the zebra that was sneered will they put it down or try and save it some good sighting you had today.
We didn't get feedback about the poor zebra. We learnt before that it's a very difficult thing to try and follow up and actually get the correct info. The poor zebra's injury was too severe, in my opinion, for it to be saved, so I would imagine they would've had to euthanise it if they were 'lucky' enough to find it. 😥🦓 Our timing was excellent and I'm so glad we were back home when it started to pour! 😁🌧️
We thought it was particularly interesting too that the two buffalo had joined the zebra and wildebeest. 🐃🦓 The poor zebra saddened us greatly. 😥 We reported it to Pretoriuskop Reception and they immediately notified the Ranger with the location.
Thank you, I appreciate that. 😊 I edit all our own videos, yes. I used Da Vinci Resolve for a long time, but have switched to CapCut and I'm quite happy with it so far.

The fish eagle was for sure a major highlight of that day! 😍🦅
That fish eagle is such a beautiful bird
Magnificent, if you ask me! 😍🦅

Indeed. For once, our timing was just perfect and we were so happy that we weren't out on the roads during the downpour. 🚙🌧️
Was always a special place since a young child❤❤❤
Sonia would agree with you. I wish I got to know the Park as a young child too, it's an incredible place. 😍🚙

Lovely footage of the Fish Eagle 👍
Thank you, I can sit and watch that bird for hours. 😍🦅

Sonia ,you are correct! Elephants do consume between 150 - 300 kg of vegetation per day!
Thanks for the confirmation, that is one hefty appetite! 🐘🌳

Friend of mine lawyer Koos Kemp from Pietersburg was mauled to death by his tamed buffalo...... late1990's, dangerous animal
Yup, my thought is that a wild animal can never be completely tame, especially not a dangerous one like a buffalo. 🐃
Buffalo, Wildebeest, and Zebra together is a unique interesting sighting. That Zebra is scary. Did you finally report it to the authorities!
We thought it was particularly interesting too that the two buffalo had joined the zebra and wildebeest. 🐃🦓 The poor zebra saddened us greatly. 😥 We reported it to Pretoriuskop Reception and they immediately notified the Ranger with the location.

I hear you, but we had much more of an issue with the behaviour and attitude of some of the drivers. 🤨
