This video, and all of the reaction videos on this channel, transform the original material from entertainment into a commentary, educational and/or opinion expressing video. The original content that is “reacted” to is analyzed by professional commentators and podcasters, who use the performance to highlight instrumental technique and further discuss song structure etc. In addition, musical theory and style choices are also often analyzed and discussed.
While the video does use the entire song (as things such as instrumental performance and song structure must also be considered), there are many pauses. In addition, often the parts of the original content are played multiple times to examine a particular element of the song being reacted to. During pauses, reactors go into detail on the emotions that are invoked by the song or content, and why or why not they are good, or if they’re particularly difficult. The pauses often last a long time, so much so that this video cannot be considered a replacement for the original material. A link to the original video is always placed in the about section, and viewers are encouraged to watch it without pauses and commentary.

In my opinion, Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas is just like from another galaxy, they are not the "Earth" level anymore, their performance from start until the end of the video is fulled with unlimited joy, i never heard this kind of music before, its just like a new music system for me, it sounds so hype and energetic, and also it is so creative and joyful,i cant lie my ears, (i'm so sorry to Lovebites fans for saying this but yahh thats a FACT) Indeed, they are so genius in making an insteresting music. ❤❤❤I love Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas so much to die!!!❤❤❤

LOVEBITES are different from NIGHTWISH. NIGHTWISH is symphonic metal. LOVEBITES is speed, progressive, thrash, neoclassical, power metal. About 18-20% of the original LOVEBITES songs are thrash metal.

Interesting format here. I'm admittedly a Lovebites Fan, not a big fan of Death Core (too repetitious/angry for me). Lovebites has a great range of different sounds from symphonic, to Power Metal, to some of the straight-up heaviest and fastest Thrash you've ever heard (think Slayer). As a Musician and performer I would say that the talent in technical prowess, song composition, and variety between the bands is Huge - big edge to Lovebites. I'm a 75yo folk singer, but I can growl, and if you hold the mike right against your mouth, and turn it up Really loud, it all sounds very similar (there's only so much you can do with the tiny 'false' vocal folds. But a voice like Asami (LB) or Floor Jansen (NW) is a Generational Gift. JMHO - but I listen to both bands.

LOVEBITES. They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans.
They play ECLECTIC METAL. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM, heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces and even punk. They mix all with classical music using operatic, A&B, soul and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano and Spanish guitar skills playing. Sometimes they use typical Japanese melodic lines which are included in ENKAs_ melancholy ballads singing by Japanese women. Only their can do it. Obviously they draw a lot from British, German and American metal.

Lol You have only seen 1 song.. Lovebites has over 60 songs and they cover all forms of metal from from thrash to ballad and classical piano. Nemophila less but no less impressive, ballads to very very heavy.. I feel the more you see the sooner you will change your mind.. Nemophila also do a great many covers and have covered all the greats, from Metalica's MOP and System of a down's Sugar, to Journey's separate ways and Kiss's Detroit rock city in full Kiss make up ( Gene Simmons actually gave them a shout out when he saw the video). Don't give up on Lovebites and Nemophila just yet.. They are two great bands of our time.. It's a great time to be alive..

This is an overview of LOVEBITES 55 self-written songs and 3 covers (plus 6+1 covers by band members) with your reaction marked with a star (*).
All these songs are great, they have no bad, weak or meh songs, and no fillers at all. Every song is special, you could randomly select a song, best life, of course, and LOVEBITES won't disappoint you. They play many different Heavy Metal styles with a certain LOVEBITES sound, they revive the masters of the 80's (and 90's) in a fresh and modern way. LOVEBITES may have the most talented musicians around, all of them S tier. Drummer Haruna is relentless like a metronome, both Miho and Fami master their bass (for Fami's capabilities, you should visit "Alien Alien" from my list, it's in her RUclips channel will almost 700K subscribers), the dual guitars M&M (for Midori and Miyako) is most certainly the best duo for trading guitar solos and harmonizing, and Asami's voice is stellar with big range, powerful belt and good vibrato. She is also a trained ballerina with exceptional stage presence. One reactor caller her "Stage General", which is perfectly put. Hard, tight, fast, relentless, effortless and clean, that's LOVEBITES. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy your ride!

You guys showed an average taste putting scarce points to Lovebites when they did amazing things on guitars, base, drums, and vocals. But you always put 2 points when a new growl came from that Las Vegas band. Nothing wrong with the personal tastes, but having missed to acknowledge the sheer level of the musicianship of Lovebites is not a thing that give you points as reactors. On the other hand it clearly shows why Lovebites do not get acclaim they deserve.

Proof that the Wolfpack (fanbase) is loyal to a tee. Then again when you listen to and experience them LIVE, their insane talent demonstrates that they are world class. They wear their femininity proudly but are metal goddesses once they hit the stage in gowns and heels. Nightwish is a great band but Lovebites is something else. Floor at 6' 1" would make a great duo with Asami at 4' 10". Haruna at 4' 9" on drums is a beast as are most of the female Japanese drummer whether Metal/Rock/Jazz!!The other thing is that Asami sings in English and writes positive lyrics to most of the songs from LB, something that also stands them apart.!!!

I like Metallica, Judas Priest, Slayer, Megadeth, Deep Purple, Dokken, Guns and Roses, Whitesnake, Nightwish, Épica, etc. At least to me, it’s not fair trying to compare Lovebites vs Fear because Lovebites is immensely better than Fear. It’s so noticeable the huge gap in the musicianship, talent and skills between these two bands.Btw, Asami style is not operatic, her voice is just clean; her background is singing R&B, soul and jazz.

I must have misunderstood your comment. I see your point and agree that there is value in comparing live performances as way to put one band above another. However, some bands/musicians are better as recording artists whereas some are better live. Both take talent and skill to do. Also, not all bands have the resources to get good recordings of live performances. Live performance recording is far more difficult to get right, regardless of the skill of the artist. So, in a way, it can be unfair to compare live performances especially when the bands are at different stages of their careers. Our thought process is that the studio version of a song is the band putting forward the best version of a song they possibly can. Also, we are not trying to say that one band is better than the other. We are comparing the entertainment value of the songs. All of these bands are great in my opinion.

note: would love to see some sort of balancing method for the song length. some badns have a lot longer lengths and thus have far more opportunities to put "reaction-worthy" scenes in their songs. say you compared an 8 minute song to a 4 minute song, the 8 minute song is likely to have more points just because the runtime is longer. not exactly sure how you would balance this though, because theres also the argument that a longer song would have slower, calmer parts, and simply multiplying the amount of songs by the ratio of song lengths would definitely not be fair.

@@SuperMetalBrosPodcast I have attended quite a few operas but many more Broadway type musicals (my wife and son have performed in musicals, and my son is currently majoring in Musical Theatre at a Music Conservatory). Asami rarely, if ever, sounds operatic in her singing and certainly didn't at all in Judgement Day. Asami in this song, and most others, was a pure chest belter. If she goes into head voice it is to soften her sound, and not fill a giant hall without a mic which is what opera singers do. Her style is theatric and she would make a great stage singer, especially because she already has the ability to act a song (plus she has a dance background). Robert Plant and Ann Wilson were not considered operatic, so I am not sure why metal singers with similar voices are always called operatic. Floor Jansen (like Freddie Mercury) is a belter that can actually go operatic. Asami is a mezzo soprano, just like Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Adele. Are those three amazing singers "operatic" when they belt?? If not, why is Asami when she belts? Just curious, how many operas have you attended?
Last, here is a piece of advice from an older guy who has been listening to hard rock/metal for over 50 years. Don't assume what a band sounds like from a single song. Arrogant and foolish is not a good way to go through life.

I don't listen to bands like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, but I guess there are a lot of such bands in Japan. This is a local product created according to a very simple recipe - to put many different components of average quality in one pile, assuming that if all this is mixed and seasoned well with j-pop, its value will increase significantly. But is it possible to listen to this? Where is the music here? As a musical freak show, you can watch it once. But no more. note regarding your comment in 19:05: the japanese music market is one of the only markets in the world that still heavily uses physical music forms. thats not to say that they dont use digital music, but the ratio of CDs to digital music in japan vs western markets is huge. therefore, unless you look at sales charts, its hard to determine what is bigger in japan. furthermore, this is not japan exclusive, but interpreting popularity on viewcount on youtube especially is iffy. there are often "[band name] - Topic" channels that are auto-generated by youtube/the band's record label that is just the audio for the song. sometimes this version has far more views than the mv, sometimes it is the other way around. as i stated in another comment, i love both falilv and lovebites (though the former is DEFINITELY my favorite, i imported almost their entire discography and a decent bit of merch from japan), but ive honestly never heard of most of the bands on this list. ive heard of nemophila and hanabie though i dont listen to them (not because i dislike them but because i havent given them a try) and ive heard of sbtw, but everything else is completely new to me.

All music is real music. Some bands are more recording artists whereas some bands excel live. Either situation doesn’t mean that their music isn’t real. We are comparing the entertainment value of each song. We are not saying one band is better than the other. I think all the bands in this tournament are awesome.

Ok, so with Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, I read the book and saw the movie and both were far better than the band ( Which ain't saying much). Very generic core type band that sounds like every other core type band....Lovebites is a breath of fresh air for me, so they take this easily.

The reason a lot of Lovebites fans say to react to the live videos, is because they stand out much more that way; they are extremely good musicians that can do the exact same stuff in a live setting. For example, you can check out their live version of Judgement Day for direct comparison. Doing live vs live band comparisons, and rating that, I think it would be harder for Lovebites to lose a matchup, even with a bias that favors the other style of music. There are many bands that just can’t perform well, or well enough, live. Just sharing my thoughts.
