At that time it was fascinating to see < 10 large rocks slam into Jupiter in quick succession (one after the other). Later on, I to realized that these weren't small scale rocks and if this were to happen on earth , then there could have been a lot of devastation. Anyhow, it was cool to see a string of rocks going into the gas giant back in the 90s.
If you want to start mining asteroids, you might want to start plans on a processing plant on the moon. If you could process ore on the moon, not only would it be more affordable to send materials down to earth, but would make it much easier to build in space.
