With many experienced workers retiring, the semiconductor industry is relentlessly trying to replace them with the next generation of workers. Unfortunately, there aren't enough students to fill these positions, and older generations may not be able to effectively transfer their knowledge to younger workers. Further research and lessons learned to sustain competency across all stages of multi-skilled and high-skilled workers, and ongoing knowledge dialogue to transfer knowledge from older to younger workers. Judging from the cost-effectiveness and technology stage issues faced by China and the United States, Malaysia has a bright future, but it also faces challenges.
