    Watching your videos was a way of escape in a sense as our son went thru chemo, radiation, and stem cell transplant for cancer. 😔There was not a lot to watch on news, ☹️and of course reading my Bible and my husband’s courage kept me going♥️. We watch your channel and it was a bright spot in our day ☀️if for but a moment. I am thankful for your channel and that you didn’t give up. We didn’t give up either and our son is doing amazing thank God…He has been 😊 good. So every-time your video pops up it brings me back to where we came from in this journey to where we are today…there is much value in your videos….enough said…
    Great success and many bless to the Tobin Crew and Gammy too🌷🌸🌺❤️

    I’m glad the title was misleading because you really do seem to have a passion for what you do. That’s so important. I stumbled into my career because I kept changing majors, and even left grad school because I was sure, but ended up going back in clinical psychology. It turned out the be a perfect fit for me and I have been doing what I love for more than 30 years now.

    I liked your life/career story, because it happens to most of us. We get to do something that we like but through an extremely tortuous way. Even so, now you are more aware of who you are. By the way, this satisfaction of life is perceptible through the screen, through the way you communicate. To me, being the kitchen the most expensive room of our homes, getting to know a lot of information is valuable, it is something that I really appreciate. And I think that you became better at kitchen design given that, along the way, you have kids to feed (the little hungry beasts) and know a lot more, and firsthand, on how important is to reach everything in the mimimum amount of time and effort. Not to mention the spills, pots that somehow fall down and the need to clean everything up as fast as possible. Keep enjoying your life and best wishes.

    I can really relate to this video. My degree was in accounting and I went to work for a large company in their accounting department. But 15 years later they relocated and I didn’t want to move. I found a job with a local university, as head of their accounting and business operations at a local campus, but 2 years later they centralized all their financial operations at their main campus two hours away in the opposite direction of were my previous employer moved. I still didn’t want to relocate. Although I didn’t have a family to support I was single and the only one supporting myself and not sure what I was going to do, but something told me not to jump back in to another accounting position. A few months later the Youth Director position opened at my church and it was offered to me. Although I was scared to death because it was less than half of what I had been making I took it because it just seemed too perfect. I loved that position but as church attendance dwindled like it has at most churches, full time paid positions outside of pastor and assistant pastor were changed to 15 hr per week or volunteer positions. Within a couple of days of finding that out I got a call from an accounting recruiter before I had even updated my resume and was hired within a week or so. All things happen for a reason! The company that hired me had a pension plan and full benefits and is where I retired from just before Covid hit.

    I love that I've just discovered your channel. I used to be a Kitchen Designer at a large hardware store as well and left the job back in 2008. I also have a bachelor's degree in Interior Design, but left the industry all together to go back to school to become a pastry chef. I've been out of work for almost 3 years now, as I had to become a caregiver to my mother and now I find myself wanting to get back in to kitchen design, but I'm just not sure if it's the right move for me. There is currently a position open at a local large hardware store. I think my combination of skills both designing kitchens and working in them, both professional and personally, would be a great skill set for the job...but I just don't know. Have I been out of the industry too long for my background to be useful?

    • @MTKDofficial
      @MTKDofficial  7 месяцев назад

      I think if you have a passion for it, it's not too late. With your interior design degree, past as a KD, and experience using the kitchen in a more professional environment, you'd crush it. Have you considered trying to go out on your own?

    • @dmloy1018
      @dmloy1018 7 месяцев назад

      Thank you for responding! I haven't considered going out on my own, but it is something I think I would love to do. I was actually told by an old chef of mine that going back into design with my combined skills would be very valuable. I never considered it though. @@MTKDofficial
