Sounds like he could have benefited from watching Mr. Rogers more, even as an adult.
"Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone."

Thanks for the quote man. Really hits home for me with what I've been going through the past couple of years. Definitely writing this one down.

For what it's worth, it can be enormously difficult to believe that aphorism when the rest of society seems bound and determined to shame anyone with any form of "mental illness." The dismal message that one is "less than" tends to shout down the genuine wisdom, especially when one is metaphorically drowning.

It takes considerable courage to speak openly about this, even now, in an era of people that (quite incorrectly) think themselves more morally righteous than people of the past. I was already a fan after Stranger Things, et alia, but seeing David Harbour have this converation cranks that up a few notches. :)

Any and every memoir that can be written about Depression... Mental Illness... Institutionalization.... can only help. Been there. Done that. But knowing I'm not the only one who's been there and done that helps me through every day. I'll read that book, Sir!

"The Oprah of Chaos." Few people can claim they've discovered their destiny, but I think David Harbour nailed it. I've gained newfound respect for Mr. Harbour.

His role as a religious zealot on "Law & Order" was the most chilling and "real" performance. I remember him from it and thought "I want to see more of his work".
