- Jimmy Savile O.B.E. presents the long running Saturday teatime TV show where dreams come true for children of all walks of life and ages.
In this rare edition (unseen since original broadcast) 'Doctor Magic' fixes it for 6 young girls (Samantha, Charlotte, Alison, Louise, Becky & Mandy) to dance with their idols Gill, Lulu, Patti, Pauline, Rosemary & Sue, better known as Legs & Co.
Here senior Legs & Co (and junior Legs & Co) wear 'Roadrunner' outfits (senior Legs with silver 'Legs & Co' on the back, junior ones are homemade by BBC costume department for the programme) and they dance to ABBA's 'Take A Chance on Me' from the popular 1978 season of Jim'll Fix it.
I can't really lambast the dance as it does involve kids, and by the looks of it they are having a whale of a time dancing with the girls (who wouldn't give their right arm to do that then)
Simple innocent routine, effective, and fun for kids and grown up's alike.

I must have watched this when it went out never missed an episode but I can't remember it, fun was had by all back then wouldn't be allowed now thanks anyway.

Remember, the general public had no knowledge regarding Savile at that time and he did make kids dreams come true to be fair.

now i know what is meant by making your skin crawl, , the very thought of him being in a studio with those poor girls horrifies me. and the lad, the one holding his arm, just no!, , , no no no!
When I was a kid I wrote to Jim and asked him to enter me in the London Marathon.
So when a couple of eight year old girls wrote in saying they wanted to prance around on stage showing a bit of leg , naturally Jimmy was in favour of the idea.
I loved all this as a kid born in 66 pans people & legs went with the wombles & ice cold jublies (ice pops)
