I’ve been on that thing a few times it’s scarier and louder in person and it feels like it’s going to break down and get stuck as the jolts are violent. There’s also a pair of rare thyssenkrupp escalators next to this elevator too. This was also a former boarders bookstore. Installed in 2006.
I had a friend in high school who chain-smoked Chesterfield Cigarettes. My first reaction was this elevator makes similar sounds to his coughing in the morning. Then I checked out what Vstock actually is... and it sounds like a really cool concept! I like that they buy and sell equipment and entertainmentware. Perhaps someone traded this elevator in for some video games and a giant Cookie Monster? Either way, I'll stop now... (But this thing needs some help for sure!)
@@poppav3821 you mean the springs at the bottom of the shaft? I don’t think the cab is hitting those. Judging by the scraping noises coming from the shaft, it could be a bent guide rail. I’m sure there’s somebody more well educated in the subject that could enlighten us on that matter.
Man! If ThyssenKrupp maintains this elevator they should be ashamed of themselves. But if it's another company that maintains the elevator, ThyssenKrupp should smack them upside the head because this is nasty!
@@stlelevators definitely one of the worst ThyssenKrupp installations I've seen then. If this has been going on for a decade do you think they would've done something over the years to fix it.
If the cab is supported on one side only (single-jack holeless and single-jack telescopic holeless hydraulic elevators), there’s a possibility someone brought either too much weight inside the cab or did not distribute freight inside it. That would have bent the guide rails and caused some scraping of the guide shoes against the guide rail. Don’t quote me on that, though...
The jolt gives it personality 🔥🔥🔥
Awesome Thyssenkrupp elevator and they need to do something about that issue
Inspired by this video i decided to go check it out (I live withing walking distance). Three years later and it's way worse.
It’s been off and on throughout the years. Sometimes it’s worse, sometimes it’s better.

Yep. This elevator has been violent like this for years.
It was still like that when I rode ot yesterday
That Start Is Awesome

Still as LOVELY as before lol
Yep 😂
Yeah that elevator scared the crap out of me a couple months ago when I was on vacation...
Ha. It scared me years ago too
Why did the up direction bell dinged twice
Does the 3 Kone KSS 370s at that apartment complex act anything like this?
Well those are traction and this is hydraulic...
It sounds like it’s scraping against something. Maybe a sensor, bad guide rail spot, etc. Not completely sure tho
I have no idea what causes this. It has done this for years.
I thought this was an impulse. Is there another V-Stock with a lift?
Mid rivers has an impulse
What does Vstock sell? I have never heard of them before
Books, Movies, etc
This thing has seen better days!
it's a crap lift.
@@SamSitar I agree
Hasn't for at least 10 years. I rode this about 10 years ago and it did the same thing.
@@stlelevators well, yeah
Did They Fix That Elevator
As of April of 2022 it wasn’t.
@@stlelevators As of August 2022 it was not fixed by that time
@@icecolespears Yea I rode it last week and it was bad.
@@stlelevators Also As of September 2022 That elevator has gotten worse from August 2022
The store is now closed.
Another Justin Elevator!!
Yep this is Justins name written all over it, he would be at that store in no time to film this.
lol
What IS that?!?
I don't know what it is that is messed up in this elevator but ThyssenKrupp needs to take care of this immediately
A wonderful elevator :P
@@stlelevators lol
Nice elevator! It is probably in need of some WD-40 but they probably have not given it any!
Haha I think it needs a bit more than that :P
What is Vstock? A book store?
Games, movies, etc
Oh God this thing
Yep :P
If I went on this thing, I would probably say "holy sh*t, this thing is a utter death trap."
Well you now know what to expect :)
That is definitely a death trap.
Yep. Has been for years.
Hmm... so the word “violent” really has stuck on, hasn’t it?
On this one, yep.
STL Elevators I think I might be the slings that stop it
STL Elevators I mean springs

something is definetly scrapping against the elevator somewhere

@@mattmoreira210 Good possibility that's the case.
Surprisingly Still Works, lol
This thing has been like this for years.
Sounds like a normal elevator to me
Sounds like the valve needs adjusting. That's probably what the issue is
I've always thought that as well.
That's Scary I Do Not Wanna Ride That
It's really not that bad. When I was younger I used to be scared of it though.
Does That Elevator Need To Be Fix Or Does It Need To Keep Doing That
Store is closing.
Doesn’t surprise me. Where’d you hear it?
@@stlelevators Wikipedia. The mall is being demolished.
@@Ih8kone Well yeah... I thought you meant this would close well before that.
Sad news everyone, the store went out of business recently...
Double chime up
Oh dear God! That elevator is horrible. V stock needs to take care of there elevators better!
