Dorothy, you got $12,366 at stake here with 1 spin that you have to take. Avoid the whammy, you win the game. If you whammy, everybody gets to come back the next show.
At 19:11 - For the 3 players to comeback on tomorrow's show, Joe would be hoping/praying Dorothy had hit a whammy, which unfortunately she did, making Joe and Wayne really happy.
Two reasons this might stand out more than Chris/Dom/Diane in 1984... 1) Chris was only on his second show when his happened, whereas this was Joe's 4th. 2) This ended completely the same across the board, even down to 2 Whammies apiece. (I specifically remember seeing this ending during the USA reruns period as a kid.) That didn't happen in 84.
All 3 prayers walked out empty handed and went home with money. That is weird. Dorothy, Wayne and Joe came back on the next show. $0 is just too painful.
No, it wasn't the 1st time in the history of "Press Your Luck," when all 3 contestants have no money, between Dorothy, Wayne & Joe, the 1st time that had happened when Chris, Dom & Diane all got $0, a couple of years ago.
This happened on the next to last episode of "Second Chance" (the precursor to "Press Your Luck"). The finale of "Second Chance" is audio only on YT, and in the beginning of the episode, host Jim Peck mentioned that the 3 players from the previous episode hit a devil (as opposed to a whammy) on their last spin and all returned for the series finale. The next to last episode is NOT on YT.
@@SanFran51 But he had two spins, he could have just taken one to at least get money and then pass bc had Dorothy whammied, Joe would have been the lone winner.
Funny thing is if you slow it down you hear the slam of the buzzer it hits at the same exact time the $2,000 was showing but the board was in mid transition by that point. Rough break.
It's great to press your luck. I always thought that it was a great game show. Not often did all 3 players return at once. I know that it ran from 1983-1986. I thought that it was a fun show to watch. Thank you so much for posting this 👍. Great game show 👍.
The 2019 press your luck had its first ever thing happen this year. Someone left the game with nothing. I'm serious. The only reason he won was because two other contestants got 4 whammies and he won with $0 in his bank and the whammy got him in the bonus so he left with nothing XD
It's called putting pressure. It's hard to win when you're that far down, and given the amounts on the board, it would have been hard to catch up with the cash totals on there. To be honest, I hated the designs on that board because of the small amounts of money to earn on there. Plus too, did you see what Dorothy had hit with her first of two spins? She would have won had Joe passed after taking a spin.
Not so sure about that. Hosts and producers do so many shows that all these odd occurrences can end up a blur. No different from Bob Barker declaring so many things as historic moments, despite proof that they'd happened before.
19:10 And with that, we have three players finishing with no money! And what that means, ladies and gentlemen, is that tomorrow we will have no returning champion; we will introduce three new players to _Press Your Luck._ So, sorry folks! Thanks for pressing your luck! See you tomorrow!
Joe passed 1 spin to Wayne causing him to hit a Whammy. Then he passed 2 spins to Dorothy leading to her hitting a whammy on her final spin... So IT IS ALL JOE'S FAULT!
@@shanejones8884 It's called putting pressure. Did you not see what Dorothy landed on in her first passed spin? If Joe took a spin and passed, Dorothy would have won.
In Round 2, the Whammy cleans everyone’s clocks for $35,361.
Boy, I can't believe all three contestants got a bunch of silly whammies!
I love the fact that not only did they all get $0 but each of them had 2 Whammies. It was a literal tie LMAO

The flashing $0s is the best part

Technically, it WAS all Joe's fault anyway!

That literally broke him.
@@TheShockninja nobody broke Peter like Michael Larson

They have the nerve to flash the $0 when they won.
Plus play the victory music too!
All 3 prayers walked out empty handed and went home with money. That is weird. Dorothy, Wayne and Joe came back on the next show. $0 is just too painful.
"The first time in the history of "Press Your Luck", all three players are gonna come back next time, and, Joe, it's all your fault!"
Peter Tomarken said, "If you whammy, all three of you will come back next time!"

Then again, remember how many "first"s onTPIR that weren't really firsts....
It was the first time in this time slot.
Joe is iconic even for the wrong reasons LMAO
...and then all 3 players had 2 whammies as well. This was totally a tie.
And the winnah is... _EVERYBODY!!!!!_ 😃😃😃😃
And NOBODY!!!
Did this ever happen before? Okay, Peter mentions this was the first time.
Yes, it did happen, in episode #306.
Peter's expression at 19:20-19:22 is HEEE-LARIOUS!!!!
Joe should have taken the second to last spin and then pass for just him to win.
There is no guarantee he would get another spin to stay in.

Peter wild talking about, I like moans😂😂😂😂. Nasty mind😂😂
I’m from South Carolina and I didn’t know they even put Hilton Head on the Board. The Island must of been popular back in the day
Yep, I believe that prize debuted on the board in September 1985
The winner was the Whammy!!!

Peter is like WTF? at the end there. I think he's more amazed at this that at when Michael Larson won the game.
19:26 Chris Klause, Dom Petrosi and Diane Sutton while watching this episode were thinking "yes because f us, right?"

The first time it has happened since November 26, 1984 with Chris, Dom & Diane.
Joe was the one mister of the passed spins
As it were...
So was Michele!!!
Who's here for tonight's episode of Press Your Luck Primetime on ABC?

Whammies:
1. Pogo Stick Whammy (Classic)
2. Jackhammer Whammy (Classic)
3. Singer Whammies (New)
4. Beatles Whammies (New)
5. Same as #2
6. UFO Whammy (Classic)

He played poorly
This was a bizarre episode of Press Your Luck.......
Joe sat in the same position the first 3 shows.
Actually his first four shows. He sat in the first (left) seat for his fifth show.
Yeah that’s what I meant, I just forgot the “as well”. I think that Chris Kass sat in the same spot 4 out of 5 shows.

As long as you didn't Whammy out, any and all tied players for the win came back, regardless of score or lack of same. Carlton is correct.
Yeah this ain't Jeopardy!
Unless it was your fifth show which would have been the case with Tracy Brown.
This isn’t Jeopardy!
Joe ruined it all
IMHO If you tie with $0 you shouldn't get to come back tomorrow.
Well, that's the rule on Jeopardy! You can't win with 0
