    Thanks for this tutorial! I used 18g 9/32" aluminum for the big rings and 20g 1/8" aluminum for the small rings and it turned out amazing! The last ring was pretty tricky to get but I managed with a bit of fiddling.

    Seriously was at it for hours !! lol but finally found a solution to assemble it properly and have it hold. I basically tripled the jump rings and made them a size smaller !! Thank you for the beautiful tutorial 💕

    I just wanted to thank you. I’m new to chainmalle and you are the only one that makes sense to me. How do I become a member for your kits?

    Gorgeous as always. I truly do enjoy watching how you make this art.
    But that being said, isn't this more or less the same as the falling star earrings? Of course, I realize the obvious differences, but isn't somewhat along the same style?

      @AussieMaillers  5 лет назад

      Yes, same unit was used. This is a kit that was designed for the Maille Club Subscription box. That subscription is aimed at showing people how to use maille to make pieces rather than just weaves. Deb

    What ring size

    Would this design be able to capture a Swarovski chaton in the middle? I've seen some chainmaille pendants with the crystals in the middle, but haven't tried any yet. This looks like it may possibly hold a chaton in from the front and back.

      Marcia you can catch beads and rivolis in this unit. There are other videos on my channel where I did that. Look for Falling Star Earrings and A Slave to Byzantine, they both use this unit and capture beads etc in them. The sizes obviously will be different depending on what you are capturing. Deb

    Can you do 7 corner star.😊

    • @AussieMaillers
      @AussieMaillers  5 лет назад

      Most likely, it would just need a bigger middle ring. I haven't done one, but I would imagine you need a middle ring of around 8-9mmID. Deb

      The gauges are listed in AWG.....it works in the sizes I listed using my rings, I can't guarantee anyone else's rings.

    I have tried this 3 times and when I get to the end it is impossible to finish. Gave it to my friend who does this all the time and she couldn’t finish it either. Very frustrated

      I'm sorry to hear that. I have made it many times in sterling and in Bright Aluminium in the listed sizes. Are you using the same sizes and wire diameter? That would be the only thing I can think of, or the supplier you use cut their rings smaller than ours. Deb

    • @marylusky2224
      @marylusky2224 4 года назад

      Aussie Maille yes same sizes in sterling silver. Get rings from Rio grande. Actually we both do

    • @AussieMaillers
      @AussieMaillers  4 года назад

      Rings can vary between suppliers. It all depends on wire temper and the spring back, mandrels used, width of blades etc which is why we list mandrel ID and actual ID on our site.
      We used our own rings, and I can confirm they worked along with many of our customers, but I can't guarantee it will work for other suppliers. I am sorry that you have had difficulties with it. Deb
