Around around 13:54 she says to continue into the turn for 3 DC but when I counted she only went up 2 DC. So for those who were confused, cuz same here, that’s what the issue was. She said 3 DC but she did 2 DC

The pattern for this starting at the 5th row started to be very confusing for me. I do love the top but the introductions got scrambled somehow.

Girl I tried crocheting your tutorial for this, but just like with others I messed up around 12:00 mark because of the cut edit ): one side looked so cute but the other side looked off and didn’t align. Can you recreate this tutorial?

Hi Dana! Thank you for your tutorial, I appreciate your instructions! I wonder though if it goes well to swim with own-crocheted bikinis. Do you have any experience of using them to swim with? Soon I would like to make bikinis that I can use for swimming! :)

*This pattern may not follow the walk through tutorial exactly because after I made it, I tweaked the pattern slightly to turn out a better checkered pattern. Both versions are good, this one is slightly better* Sizes will be listed in parenthesis in order from small to large (small, medium, large) CH = chain DC = double crochet CO = cast on WS = wrong side color 1 = white color 2 = green
Checkered Bikini Top Materials: -Two colors of medium weight 4 yarn (I only used barely half a skein of each color for the size small) -4mm crochet hook
Slip knot, CH (17,25,33) with color 1, flip over, place hook in 1st chain going back down the row. CO color 2. Place 1 DC in each of the first 4 CH. (work alternating color into the DC's to hide) CO color 1 to complete the 4th DC. Place 1 DC in each of the next 4 CH in color 1, repeat every 4 CH until end of row.
End of row 1, place 2 DC into last CH to turn, CO color 1 to complete the 2nd DC. Work along the WS making your way down in DC alternating colors every 4 CH.
At the end of the row (color 1) cont. with color 1, CH 2, flip
    ROW 2
Place 1 DC in each of the first 4 CH, CO color 2 to complete the 4th DC. repeat alternating pattern every 4 DC until you reach the beginning of the turn (color 1). Place 2 DC in each turning CH of color 1. CO color 2 at last DC. Place 2 DC in each of the next 2 CH, repeat alternating pattern until the end of the row, At last DC CO color 1, CH 2, flip
    ROW 3
Place 1 DC in each of the first 4 CH in color 2, CO color 1 to complete the 4th DC. Repeat alternating pattern until you reach the beginning of the turn. At the last CH of color 2 from the previous row place 1 DC in each of the next 2 CH, 2 DC in the next CH, 1 DC in the next CH, CO color 1 to complete the last DC. Place 1 DC in the next CH, 2 DC in the next CH, 1 DC in each of the next 2 CH. Repeat the alternating pattern until the end of the row. Continue the same color into the next row, CH 2, flip
    ROW 4
Repeat alternating pattern pattern until the beginning of the turn. At the beginning of the turn (color 2) place 1 DC in each of the next 3 CH, place 2 DC in each of the next 2 CH, CO color 1 to complete the previous DC. Place 2 DC in each of the next 2 CH's. 1 DC in the next CH. Repeat the alternating pattern until the end of the row, CO [color 2], CH 2, flip
    ROW 5
Cont alternating pattern until the beginning of the turn, cont. [color 1] 3 CH into the turn. CO [color 2] to complete the previous DC, 1 DC in each of the next 2 CH, 2 DC in each of the next 2 CH, 2 DC in each of the next 3 CH, CO [color 1] to complete the previous DC, mirror the turn to complete. Repeat the alternating pattern until the end of the row. CO [color 2], CH 2, flip
    ROW 6
Continue alternating pattern until you reach the beginning of the turn. CO [color 1], 1 DC in each of the next 4 CH, CO [color 2] 2 DC in each of the next 2 CH, 1 DC in the next CH, CO [color 1] 2 DC in each of the next 2 CH, 1 DC in each of the next 2 CH, CO [color 2] 2 DC in each of the next 2 CH. Cont. alternating pattern until the end of the row.
    [end of size small]
for sizes Medium and Large cont. for as many rows as needed, for each turn incorporate an additional 6 DC to each side of the turn. I have not written a pattern for these sizes, but if you would like me to please message me!

i am disappointed with this yt video tutorial. it is a lovely pattern but the last row's instructions were messed up. luckily i could work out where it went wrong and i fixed it, the final piece looks lovely. the 17:50 part jumps back to the part she just did and she switches the colour to green instead of carrying on in cream. what i did was basically undid what i just did for a few stitches so it looked like what is in the video and carried on from there. doubt that makes sense but hope it helps some people a bit more considering the person isnt replying to comments to help :)
