I totally understand your passion for owning and using something unique like this. I have several random pieces of very useful Americana that I've stumbled upon and happened to have the cash for. It becomes a special possession when you find them this way. My favorite is my 1932 Dobro guitar, which is great for camp, and I just found a 1914 vintage 2hp inboard canoe engine that will end up in a boat one day. I will always share these with as many folks as I can, but I'll never let them go. Thanks for sharing this beautiful shotgun with the folks it was originally meant for.
Me either. I have the 20 ga. They made a 410 I’d absolutely love to have. I know they’re out there, but those that have them, are just like me, they won’t part with them. Thanks for watching.
Jim, somebody has one that’s a cherry in a 410. H&R did this in a youth model frame. You can find that on the internet. It’s gorgeous. You could paddle and shoot a duck at the same time with that one. Thanks for watching.
@@Mainepolingguide Thanks for that info Lisa....... .410 with this new ammo out is very deadly i.e. "pine chickens" (wild turkeys). I grew up with a Steven .410 just like the H&R..Stay the Course.....Jim
you can buy a normal folding single shot and disassemble it in 3piece. its about the same thing and pack almost smaller. get a used one they sell for around 100$.
.. Classic for sure ,, but Kinda hard of a Brook Trout , isn't it ..?? .. I have in family, a Barretta 20 ga. single shot that also folds in half .. old but in great condition .. but when in need I usually have along a short barrel 12 ga. pump .. with various loads .. depending on location and needs..
That’s a beauty! “They just don’t make them like that anymore” 😢 I’m going to have to try your almost vertical grilling method next time I get the opportunity. It sounds fantastic! Any suggestions on seasoning the fowl?
Very nice gun Lisa. I have a 410 HR also. I love it an would never sell it also. Nice video Lisa . The season is almost here. I cant wait to get out onto the river.
@@Mainepolingguide have you seen the shorty "backpacker" shotgun from CanadaAmmo (ithink?). they are only 2foot long fully assembled. perfectly legal and NR.
@@Francois_Dupont no I hadn’t heard of them, but just checked them out. Nice. We all help each other source good gear. Thanks for watching and commenting.
So ... wanna sell it? JK. Not too many dings in that stock. Surprised you can shoot steel shot out of it, if it is full choked. Your enthusiasm went up a notch or two compared to other videos. I'll bet there is a good story or two about good hunts and that 20. $150 in college was a fortune. Good thing college and crazy decisions often go together. Better thing that sometimes crazy decisions sometimes turn out to be excellent decisions. Thanks for the video.
It cost a bit more but when they made the change I shot tungston for ducks. You can shoot lead for partridge. I’m always good to gear. I see how hard young canoeists are tossing shit around and losing stuff and I wanna say, we’re not passing an REI or LLBean on the river, ya know. Thanks for watching.
I love your style and attitude Lisa! Three-minutes is too little time to spend with you. Man, what a professional.
Wow, thank you!
Old School, the best way. I love it! Your videos are the best, looking forward to more!
Robert, thanks for watching. Old school is synonymous with quality gear, that’s for sure.

Nice find . Especially after all these years, your enthusiasm shows as it should .
That's a beauty! Good lucking finding one available today. Thanks for sharing!
Great episode Lisa! Advice on gear AND a recipe for cooking duck! Keep 'em coming!!
(West coast fan #43)
Todd, thanks for watching. Stay tuned for a live feed sometime after May 8.
I'd love to find one of those!!
I'd have bought that in a heartbeat.
🤘🤘
Neat 20ga! There are newer folding guns, but that one looks like plenty, and stylish to boot!
I love it. Thanks for watching.
That a real nice shotgun. I can never understand why manufacturer's stop making an item that sells and people want.

Paul, thanks for watching and commenting, there is no better group to share with.
Thanks for the roast duck idea.
You’re welcome. It’s not fast but so good. Don’t be afraid to get it in front of a good fire.

Rounds? All bird shot, mix it up? Slug for bear protection?
Usually 6’s & 7’s and yes I always kept a slug for bears.

There is nothing like those Fall Canoe trips! Those are my favorites. Thanks for posting.

Any suggestions on seasoning the fowl?
When the fat starts to drip out, so you know the spices will stick to the meat, I’d just do salt, pepper and bells.
very neat!
It is, rare to see. Maybe H&R will do an updated model that folds again.
Hell yes !!!

Shawn, me too. I don’t own one but always loved the 410

Why do I have a sudden desire to eat roast duck?
Very cool. Great story as well. Thanks.
Philip thanks for tuning in.
