My Ryobi drill is from 2017 and has never had a problem at all but if it found itself on a RUclips video someone will break it driving 400mm bolts through Ironbark without a predrilled hole and argue that determines how good it is.
I have that impact drill and it still runs perfectly. I put new brushes in it a few years ago. Love to see the Makita nail gun tear down instead of the DeWalt. I heard the Makita nail gun is ridiculously heavy but works very well

Dean, thanks to your streams, I replaced my plastic Makita chuck on my Combi drill with China's finest, metal one! They are the weakest link, it seems. All good so far and a week in.. Cheers from a Sparky in UK
Like Dean says look after your machine know it's limits, even though with modern screws I still pilot drill first which saves my impact drill from screaming for mercy and caming out fixings, good practice 👍
I had one of them it was a great driver till someone broke in and cleared all the tools out my van. The rubber over moulding can be glued back on using Black rubberised super glue.
i would like both. i want to see what they improved on the dewalt over the gun i had and see if its worth buying another one. dewalt would want to seriously improve it for me to go back away from the hikoki. no harm seeing the makita what it lands either.

"Planned obsolescence" should be a registered crime to the planet! Companies have proved that they can build tools that last decades as well as tools that will last until 3 days after the warranty runs out. We need to go back to the first one if we are serious about saving the planet for our future generations

Absolutely phenomenal impact! ran my for like 14 years and actually bought it used and then give it to my little brother and hes still using it today.
I got into makita on 2006 and most all of them still work, including the batteries.
Aye the old batteries lasted so much longer, my early ones lasted nearly 10 years

yes, most good brands will keep the parts availible long after the tools are no longer sold. Thats one of the reasons i dont recommend Hilti tools
