      Jay Zinho Check out Paulus Schafer as well.......he produces beautiful creative melodic lines. There's a youtube clip entitled "suberp performance". It's a slow tune but he delivers some long haunting melodic lines that are out of this world.

    I was at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society show in Nashville in 2004 that Joscho refers to here. Frankly, I was slipping into a coma from the sheer shock of hearing this otherworldly young genius before his first song was even over. Joscho and his trio (I believe it was his dad on rhythm guitar and another player on upright bass) received THREE encores complete with standing ovations every time. Not even Tommy Emmanuel achieved that kind of feat. Just astonishing music... w o w . . .

      Joscho is actually a very approachable humble and funny person. The best thing is he shares his knowledge with everyone who is interested. There are not much players in this world who got the whole package Josch can provide. (Whole Package = Artistry/Performance/Fit in Bussiness/Teaching)

    luke here on dads account - joscho aged 4, sitting and listening
    made my cry a bit
    Very familiar musical introduction
    only mine was not high info music immersion
    (makes a big difference)
    mum used to sing and talk with me about life (simple immersion)
    my biggest lesson was watching dad noodling on guitar
    I thought "i can see and hear what to do on that thing"
    Billy Strings said "I learnt everything on this side of dads guitar"

    10:18 .. maybe he did a lot of mistakes ... but the mistakes can become your personal style. I think this is a thing I like about older times. Even listening to famous rock guitarists from back in the day ... they were always listening to records, replaying guitar parts, maybe slowing them down ... but getting everything by ear! That in itself is a huge kind of school that almost no school today does! The getting everything by ear school seems to have been replaced by getting everything by music notation! That's got it's place in classical and pre-written music but for improv and culture/folk-based "feel" music, "by ear" is the best! for certain approaches. And it can lead to more innovation in certain situations in my opinion - when people learn to play "their way" they can come up with weird things nobody thought of.

    • @granthurlburt4062
      @granthurlburt4062 2 года назад

      That;s something many people today who criticize Eric Clapton, for example, dont understand. He and his contemporaries played records over and over, moving the needle back so as to repeat a passage, and trying to fnd notes and chords on their guitars that duplicated the sound. He didnt have any you-tube videos and there were very few relevant gutar instruction manuals.

      ovo sto on ovde pokazuje je samo, vidite sta ja znam kako sam super. zasto tako nesto neradi zajedno sa Stochelom ili drugima. Nijedan ga trazi da svira sanjima!!! svirao je jedanput sa Stochelom ali to samo zato sto je Stochelo bio dobro placen za to, a ne sto ga ceni kao velikog gitaristu !

      Take a jazz classic and learn the arpeggios of each chord, extending them up to 13ths. First play the arpeggio on each chord in sequence, then start throwing in notes that fill in between or lead to these notes. The start is very hard, but on each new piece, familiar passages will appear. Tabledit has some transcriptions also.

      mulgurul OK, I just heard back from Adrian Holovarty (the wonderful guitarist who is accompanying Joscho). Here is what he said regarding the mic "The microphone I used was an Audio Technica Pro 70. I'm not 100% sure what Joscho used, but it very well might have been the same thing. It's one of the standard ways of amplifying in the gypsy jazz world. Cheers!"

    • @GizzyDillespee
      @GizzyDillespee 2 года назад

      Because of an early accident, Django had to use only 2 fingers and his thumb with his left hand! It's nuts to watch. It's also fun to watch when Joscho shows both ways to play the same lick - 2 fingers vs all of them. Always a good time and informative. Maybe I've been lucky so far, but I've never seen a boring Joscho video.
