I would try some fray check on the hole to keep it from fraying further, them maybe you can attached a bow to that area to hide it. The dresses and dolls are very cute. I can understand why you were so frustrated with the pink dress and its hole, she looks adorable in it with the shoes and socks.
Tysm hun! I got some fray check, and I may try an extra layer of lace :) I love the dress, but sadly, it's very, very thin. I'm not sure what fabric was used but it's the thinnest I've ever seen from sites such as these. I hope to one day get more talented at sewing and can try to make one out of a thicker cotton fabric :) I'm just so in love with the style!! It's so adorable 😍
It's great that you got a refund but the dress is too pretty to throw away. You could iron a small piece of fusible interfacing or hemming tape on the inside to prevent the tear getting worse. The hole could be hidden on the outside with a bit of embroidery? There's a RUclips channel called "Stitch by Stitch with Lily" hosted by a lovely Korean lady. She has about 150 Blythe sewing tutorials with free patterns (link in her video description) to print. You'll definitely find a suitable pattern and can sew along with her videos. Good luck and happy sewing 🥰❤️🤗
Yes, Milly I was going to say the same thing! Interfacing from inside of the dress and perhaps extra lace? The bow is an easy fix by just moving the mid strip of material! Cute haul Ericka! 🥰💖
Omg thank you so much for all the tips!! I'll definitely try both of your suggestions & look up that channel. I love the dress so much, but I'm still learning a lot about sewing. I think it could be a fun challenge to try making the dress ❤ I really appreciate both of you for helping me! ❤❤
I have an order on AliExpress in a while, I haven't ordered since before Marna was getting broken legs on her Blythes. Bummer about that dress! It does look really good on her though! And your other girl with ears, so cute!!
if you want to make the dress yourself try removing the seams from the torn dress and you'll be able to see the shape of the individual pieces that make up the dress without it stitched together and then trace over those pieces of cloth to make an outline for recreating that pattern yourself or use the pieces themselves to copy the pattern.
Omg tysm! Such a great idea! I'll definitely try that out :) sorry for the delayed response 😅 work has been crazy 🤪 but I really appreciate the advice. Do I make the traces bigger then the pattern for seam allowance? That's where I always mess up lol
@@LittleCraftyKitty Its okay we all gotta work. Nah, instead turn the outfit inside out and use a marker to color where the clothing is stitched together on the inside. That should give you a reference for where the seems come together on the pattern.
@ParfaitDream tysm!! I'll definitely give this a try soon. I'm actually working on a tiny room build :) I can't wait to show you what it looks like when it's done. I'll definitely be trying your tips soon!! I love to sew, I'm just still learning A LOT about making clothes... so I really appreciate your help :) I can't wait to try this technique.
The dress is so cute! That's unfortunate about the hole! 😔 Hopefully they will refund, aliexpress sellers are really particular about refunds and returns unfortunately.
They actually refunded me, I was surprised! Thankfully, I may be able to hide the hole a little, but I'm sad it won't last long. It's beautiful but It's so thin & fragile for doll clothes... Maybe one day I'll get motivated to try and remake one like it. Lol 😆 🤣 if I can learn these detailed patterns!! Haha
Update: I got a refund ❤ should I buy the dress again? Or try making one? ❤ tysm for watching 👀 I'm out of town still, but I'll be home tomorrow ❤
See u soon
Try making it!
Nice Haul. Sorry about the dress having a hole in it. Try and make a dress for your Blythe 💕 Great video 📸
