I just came back from the club, it's 4AM ;). BSE was playing live in Tampere, Finland. I swear that was the best 1,5 hours of my life so far, and to the day I die. No words can describe the greatness and awesomeness of listening to BSE live. All I say is GO SEE BSE LIVE! The albums and tracks themselves are the best ever, but played live... it's just mixed so good, it simply sounds 10x better than from your computer or an MP3 player.
Man, I'm still coming back to this song. Great great stuff. It's great to see that dubstep seems to be making a return to this more spacious sound with a more forward low-end bass.
Currently, June 2022, my research team is going through all of the evidence in this intriguing case. Right now, there is no doubt that indeed, this is definately a hard one. We’ll keep you updated if anything changes (wouldn’t be hopeful about that tho)
"You should never be afraid to embrace space. Those quiet little bits in between the heaviness really create such a strong atmosphere; there’s no need to be so full-on all of the time." Dang I hope more producers understand that.
i didn't understand why a lot of people are hating Dubstep tracks nowadays, i like some of these songs.... Then i checked the list of ukf songs from the first one (this one) and.... WOWOWOWOWOW
It's just interesting to listen back to the older Dubstep out there, which I've been doing a lot lately. The difference between the older and newer Dubstep is that the classic Dubstep producers didn't worry so muuch about how heavy there song was, or if people would like it even if it's not hard and powerful. Now though, it seems like everyone's in a race to become the heaviest, hardest hitting Dubstep producer, but their songs just end up sounding just as hard as the last producer. Every time I hear a new heavy Dubstep song, I think to myself "I've already heard this before." And it isn't the song itself which I've heard before, it's more the approach and sound design. Dubstep is just producers trying to make the loudest bass music ever, trying to outdo each other, but at the end of the day, you gotta admit, you've already heard it somewhere else before. Long story short, Dubstep has become less about creativity, and more about making heavy in your face music that everyone's done already. And I'm not saying this about every Dubstep subgenre, because you got people like Chime bringing back melodic elements into Dubstep, and because of that, I think a new wave of actually creative Dubstep is on the way. And of course, I do also like the heavy stuff, but it's starting to get to the point where I'm starting to listen to more melodic stuff as well as classic bangers as well. But until people get it together, this is my opinion on modern Dubstep.
I love you. Thank you for articulating what I feel in my soul. 2009-2012 (to me) truly was the greatest period of electronic music production of all time. Dubstep needs a return to form badly, because like you think 95% of it has been the same riddim style ain’t over and over again. Thanks again you hero.
I know exactly what you mean, I've been trying to wrap my head around it for years. Back when guys like Excision were really fresh and new, everyone was really creative and had a ton of unique sounds. Nowadays it's all shifted, the whole landscape shifted and favors this more loud festival banger sound, and all the variety just went out the window. It's loud and energetic and heavy, but it's all so boring and flat. Dude I highly recommend trying to dig for that underground shit, labels/channels like DUPLOC definitely scratch that itch. A ton of fresh sounds coming out of there, check it out!
ive been going to events for a long time and saw dubstep evolve at events and in the generations. whats sad now (in america) is that edm culture is mostly at a disconnect with its uk/european influences. newer dubstep fans dont identity with dubstep in the UK sense but basically just understands dubstep after skrillex and excision and what they birthed. and its STILL true that its just harder and harder. now what makes things even more confusing now is u have american "basshead" culture flooding the scene bc "dubstep" genres are mainstream now and its just throwing everything out of wack bc they dont really acknowledge the UK/european roots. to be fair its not out of wack..its just showing that america has taken "dubstep" in a direction of its own.
This is one of the first dubstep songs I ever heard. And it is certainly a major reason I got hooked. Much love to Black Sun Empire for getting me hooked on such great music.
