Thank you for sharing. I almost forgot to treat my plants prior to spring. I will watch for the correct temperatures as you suggested. God bless and keep you and yours safe in His care.
The name of oil is: All seasons horticultural and dormant spray oil. Easily available on Amazon and other sites. My family is relatively safe, thank you!
Thank you Olga! My thoughts have been with you all week. I was happy to see this new video tonight. I believe that our gardens are one of the gifts from God that heal us in hard times. I was wondering if you would use dormant oil on raspberry plants. I get small beetles in my raspberries that I control with the use of chemicals. But the more I learn from you, the more determined I am to garden organically.
I just checked the label of horticultural oil and found raspberries. Treated pests are: mites, powdery mildew, rust, sawfly eggs, scales, aphids and mealybugs. I don’t think that Beatles lay their eggs on raspberries directly. They have 4 stages of life. Soil around your bushes is what hosts them. Did you try manual removal? To break their like cycle? Another way can be neem oil…
@@OlgaCarmody I have really tried to clean up the dead leaves around my raspberry plants the past two years. That seems to cut down on the beetles quite a bit. But because of the beetles, I am nervous to add the dead raspberry leaves to my compost pile. Would you?
Thank you Olga, for such detailed information! Your videos are always so helpful and relaxing to watch. Have you used neem cake in your garden before? I've been doing some research on it, it's supposed to control nematodes in the soil and works well as a fertilizer. But I wasn't able to find any comment from people who have actually used it in their garden...
You must be gardening in the south, where those dreaded nematodes are present. I never used neem cake, since we don't need to deal here in North East, New England with those pesky things. Sorry, can't provide any info on neem cake either.
@@OlgaCarmody Yep, haven't had much experience with nematodes myself- new to gardening, but heard about it from neighbors who have been growing things in their yard. Just got my lady of shalott- I decided to get them after seeing these beautiful roses in your videos , will plant them tomorrow- sooo excited!!!
I am new to your channel, I am in the UK, do you know if there is an equivalent version of this in the UK, I was searching all over and looks like this is from US. Thank you x
Well, dormant horticultural oils are widely used in orchards businesses. Maybe you can look in there too. Unfortunately I don't know what European version is there.
Thank you for sharing your experience to everybody, it really helps me, I wondering if my rolls already came out new small leaves, can I still spray dormant oil now?
You mean your rose leaves are out and you want to spray? Don't use winter dormant oil, it is too late. Dormant oil is strong and can burn young leaves. You can use summer oils, or you can use the same oil I showed in my video ( since it is summer and dormant oil), but follow the instructions for summer spraying. Solution will be much weaker.
Oh Olga! Thank you, I appreciate your videos so much! You offer so much information, and you are as a friend sharing your garden with us.
Thank you, my dear!

@@yishen1221 yes, neem oil is good, just do it in the morning, to avoid bees
