the dragon drawing and the sculpture, I was very impressed. I'm starting to use clay at my school so when I saw your video I needed to know how to do the dragon scales. The dragon drawing reminded to me about this dragon book called Wings Of Fire. Very good job!
Pretty amazing dragons Christina! I would love to see a vid of this mold process happening. I can't believe you put your scales on one at a time - they look GREAT!
Removing the original sculpture from the mold without damaging it is difficult since the mold is very fresh and can easily stretch out or rip, I usually make precision cuts along a edge to get the sculpture out. The hole on the bottom is the part that the latex didn't drip into when I poured it from above.
The latex doesn't have a brand it's just labeled liquid latex, I get it in bulk from a FX Supply Store online. There are many supply and costume making places online to buy liquid latex and other materials, may want to find one closer to your location to avoid high shipping rate. It takes a lot of time and patience to get the sculpture and mold right. Believe me, I've been doing this for a couple years now and it's taken me many tries to get the perfect combination of doing this.
Do you have a video of a dragon laying down? I'm a beginner and think that would be easier for me. Want to make one for my son for xmas. Looks really Awesome. Thanks
i looking to make a dragonsculpture this summer i wana make a mold that i can pour silver into not paint it would i be able to do this with a general mold or would i need a graphite mould made im not worried about time just wana have a summer project aside from writing books
Hi, I just wanted to ask you how you managed to do the scales, whether they were little individual bits of clay or if you indented the original clay to make it look like he had scales. Thanks Suzie
Beautiful work.

I put the eyes in the mold before I pour the material in it. The eyes are permanent on each sculpture.
