I've always thought the main problem with Vivaldi is not that he wrote too much but that he wrote too little. Thank you so much for addressing this defect!
dixit Dominus Domino meo sede a dextris meis donec ponam inimicos tuos scabellum pedum tuorum 06:13 Virgam virtutis tuae emittet Dominus ex Sion dominare in medio inimicorum tuorum 08:25 Tecum principium in die virtutis tuae in splendoribus sanctorum ex utero ante luciferum genui te 11:00 Juravit Dominus et non poenitebit eum tu es sacerdos in aeternum secundum ordinem Melchisedech 13:40 Dominus a dextris tuis confregit in die irae suae reges 15:25 Judicabit in nationibus implebit ruinas conquassabit capita in terra multorum 18:06 De torrente in via bibet propterea exaltabit caput 21:00 Gloria Patri et filio, et spiritui sancto 22:14 Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc et semper, et in saecula sæculórum. Amen.
Incantevole.
But this is actually very near to mere copying.. Yes, it’s nicely done, but it tooks not just scheme and time signatures, but sometimes even parts of themes from Vivaldi.
It was and is commonplace for composers to borrow ideas from each other. It was a means to show appreciation and respect towards the work of another master. I don’t agree it should be considered plagiarism. I think Sardelli is just very well versed in 18th century musical forms and schema.
Legolasicek well, that’s your viewpoint. I personally adore music from this period and admire those who dedicate their life to understand it. Questions as to whether it should or not be considered a serious pursuit are a waste of time.
I agree with what Markus said, but at the same time, this is uncanny. I dont want to listen to a composer that sounds exactly like another composer... there are many little-known composers on youtube today composing baroque music, and none of it sounds this uncannily similar to any specific baroque composer. This just makes me feel uneasy tbh!
D'affermar con chiarezza oggi m'onoro
che questo "Dixit" è 'n capolavoro.
3:25 is such an absolutely gorgeous 5th progression worthy of a person whose compositions epitomize the spirit of High Baroque excellence. Brilliant

Markus Boyd yes I know that of course. But these times are long gone..
