Good routine for NCAA but I’m not sur it’s the best music and dance for international judging, she might not get a very good artistic score since the juges seem to only give credit to « emotional » routines…

Not at all true… look at the brazilians

She would likely have a completely different routine for international competition. Elite/Olympic routines value precise execution of the highest possible difficulty, as well as artistry. In NCAA, dance is big, with the emphasis on precision and the cleanest possible execution. Elite athletes such as Konnor McClain here at LSU or Leanne Wong at UF have technically precise NCAA routines that are calculated to score that elusive perfect 10, and train their elite skills and routines on the side in the hopes of making the Olympic team. On the side might not be fair, training for the Olympics is hardly a side hobby to do in their spare time, but what I mean is the routines are just different 😅

She’s definitely not making a run at the Olympics in my opinion

Why would you assume that? She’s not going to compete elite difficulty in fear of injury.

Konnor has said in an interview last week that training for the Olympics is still her number on goal.
      She's still training elite skills.
You can listen to her interview talking about it at 6:30

@@WorldGymnasticsMemoriesWell… then she definitely needs a new routine with more sport and less just shake-your-booty… what a pity 🥺

No college gymnastics routine is even close to Olympic caliber. They are good at what they do, but college gymnastics is entertainment. Olympic gymnastics is a whole new level of talent.

@@curiousman9181 well the difficulty requirements continue going down on floor. Look at the difficulty in the floor final at Worlds last year. Zhou Yaqin with a double tuck and a triple + front outscoring much more difficult routines. Martina Maggio also was scoring very well on floor in 2022 with nothing harder than a double layout. Konnor with a double pike and a few of her old dance skills could get up to 5.4 D-score which is really not bad considering beam is going to be her main event if she goes back to elite. That's not even with the Chusovitina which I don't expect to come back at this point but maybe she has that in the back pocket too.

That's part of college gymnastics judging. From the moment the meet starts until it ends, everything is judged. If the team isn't involved and entertaining the crowd, then the scores aren't as good. Subjective scoring.
