Really like the idea of using machine learning to train and learn the sheer amount of data that they are gathering everyday at the data centers, to help optimize the reduction rate in cooling energy consumption in _real time_ !
There's a striking contrast between this talk and a similar talk by James Hamilton about AWS infra in that the Hamilton talk describes in much more detail each of the layers of the "stack," from rack to region, including bandwidth and network topology. I assume Google thinks it's proprietary. Too bad. Also, it would have been interesting to hear how designs changed over the years, including the decision to add OCP. In terms of environmental friendliness, I'm wondering if there's anything special about the use of generators since often generator number and use can be strictly regulated by air quality requirements. Last, it's annoying that the camera focused so much on the speaker when it would have been helpful to have longer visibility of the slides/photos.
hardware is one thing but if the software needs large quantities of resource and uses only a fraction of it and wastes the rest, more datacenters need to be build.
Surprised this has so few views. I'm fascinated by Data-center tech.
As an engineer that builds these networks, it still amazes and fascinates me on a daily basis. The speeds of innovation have blown my mind.
Good to see the topic of Sustainability nudging higher in the OCP Foundation membership now that Sustainability is the fifth tenent starting in 2023
Hi Sir,
I am from India,
I am Data Center Operator and what a lovely knowledge got me from this video.
Thank you so much

make the difference between IT infrastructure and facilities infrastructure
Always find it interesting when there are videos about data centers - especially Google's.
Excellent presentation
Thank, s for the view this show, s Greatness. Thanks very much for your time.
I hope Google do another video on their data centres soon.
Great overview of how to do a data center the right way!!
9:07 that drop though😎
Very good presentation. Nice perspective on data center 101
Cloud is NOW & the future
No one thinks of where their data is actually stored physically! I want to work for you
@@stevieboi9907 You want to sweep their floors or what?
please have more about data center. Thank you!

Great presentation!
Thanks your presentation 🙏
Why these datacenters only have a single ground floor?
@@erincarson8998 Is real-estate so cheap as compared to managing a second floor?
This was amazing!
Hello! From Telemundo!
So Google is only 7x24x365, this is a leap year man ! Guess ye going down for one whole day this year coz we got 366 days this year
does google use the poweredge servers still
what topology?
Cool
👍🔢SUPER PERFEKT

Lol really?
Carbon neutral is so misleading.
