Tunisian riot police get ready for trouble in Sousse, Tunisia.

On the eve of the 2nd anniversary of the Tunisian revolution 13th January 2013, the riot police are gathering in Sousse. On this day, we had heard that some of the shop traders, who were protesting outside the city council offices, were "robustly" dealt with by the police, while in a meeting hall next to the police HQ a political meeting of several of the opposition parties passed peacefully this year, due in part to the visible police activity.
Masked, leather jacketed, policemen on dirt bikes, armed, carrying cs gas, and equipped with what I presume are not standard issue wooden cudgels, is an alien sight to many people from Britain.
During the narration you'll hear me use slang words related to the police. These are words common in the British English slang; The term "The Old Bill" refers to the police in general. A "Copper" is a police officer and a "Cop Shop" is a police station. Getting "nicked" is to get arrested. These terms are not deemed insulting, but neither are they a formal descriptive term. They are used much in the same way as "Five-0" is used in the US, or "les flics" is used in France.

I'm happy that you are happy :-) Interestingly, I found out later that as I was filming this video there was a fight between police and striking workers going on across the other side of the town. The reason the police were where we were standing, is that the building was holding a political meeting of opposition activists.
