AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage - only slightly more violent. It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on RUclips are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). Again, it doesn't cost you anything to click these links, and it's a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!

That road is no joke! My husband and I use to live in Kalispell, so we went up there all the time. One of the most beautiful places ever, but scary at the same time. I use to work at the hospital up there , so I got some stories. I would say Glacier National Park is one place you have to see with your own eyes. Pictures and hearing stories just does not do any justice.

I lived in Kalispell to, and spent a great deal of time hiking in Glacier Park growing up. I have driven, Going-to-the-Sun Road many many times and it still makes me nervous to this day. :-) unfortunately I haven't been able to make my way back to the Flathead Valley or to Glacier Park since the massive fire at Lake McDonald Lodge. I hope it's not too bad...

The last time I drove from the west to the east, we met a line of vintage Rolls Royce cars. Must have been a couple dozen. With the wife on the passengers side over looking the beautiful views, she came un-glued when I was looking more at the cars than the road. Thanks for bringing the memories back. Great video.

Going to the Sun Road is one of my favorite places in the world. I talked about it to my now wife about for many years and we went last year and she and her sisters loved it. We only got as far as Mt. St. Mary as the road was closed but the sisters and I climbed to the peak observation post through the snow. Its wonderful and every American should experience GTTSR and Rushmore!

I had just brought a youth group to Glacier to go rafting on a return trip from Idaho. We planned to do the GTTSR, but wound up behind schedule, and with all the traffic on a Friday afternoon, decided against it. After watching this video, I'm actually glad I didn't attempt this road with 2 twelve passenger vans full of teenagers!

My group did, there was barely enough room to fit by but the thing is you can't turn around. It's more sketchy on the lake Mcdonald side than st. Mary's because it's a lot more curvy.

My 20 meg download speed buffers on 4K and 1440 but plays 1080 just fine. What I could see in 4K was wonderful. That road has been cloudy, rainy, and socked in at the top everytime I've driven it. We took the Red Bus tour last time and that was a lot of fun with our NATCOA Truck Camper group. You get a driver who narrates along the drive and makes several stops on the way with time at the top. Well worth it . Thanks for this video. Very refreshing. It will go well with my Porter.

I have only been on this road on a motorcycle. Your tips are excellent. The very best time to go is in the early am and that is the best time to see bear. Death Valley, so this will be abit of a welcome change. I've drove up Pike's Peak in CO a couple times and that's pretty scary the first time. Also, been on the high roads in Denali Park and those were some "cliff hangers", too, lol.

Did this once in the Park Bus. I can say I could never do it again. I’ve lost the edge so to speak. Most scary road I’ve ever been on. If you went over the edge you would never stop for at least a mile. I have driven the west entrance to Yosemite once. Almost as bad. If you do not like heights don’t torture yourself. Lol. When we got to the top all I could think of was that we had to go back down. If heights do not bothering you and no guard rails then go and enjoy.

As I make this comment it is 2019. Back in 1999, I camped near Hungry Horse, MT. I was warned about bears and I took all the precautions. The Going To The Sun Highway offers breathtaking scenery. I rode my bike for a short distance near the Logan Pass visitor center(I rode "over the pass"). The Red buses were not running that summer, but they have since been rebuilt and are being rebuilt once again. The rides look like fun, but they are not cheap. I was not aware of a free shuttle, but my truck worked just fine. Go there. You'll enjoy it.

I have biked but not driven this road and it was informative to see the tips you gave to drivers as I do plan on returning in the next couple of weeks to both bike and drive. Just as you recommend that everyone should take this road I particularly recommend it on a bicycle now with the advent of the bikes virtually anyone can ride this . I will probably regret this advice when I’m caught in a cluster of novice riders one day. Just remember when you hear someone coming behind you saying “on your left” it means you stay to your right-you don’t go to your left !😂😂😂😂 Yes I have had that frequently happen.

+James Allan Sorry to hear that, but now you have a perfect excuse to return to the park!

We drove this road so many times-always a thrill. But yes, we’d see some motor homes and trailers turned back-they had no idea how sharp some of the turns and switchbacks are.

Been there. It’s probably best to make it a one way road only.

My favorite road in America! We did it on motorcycles and had an avalanche bury the road 15' deep...in August! We just had to wait until they got it shoveled off the side, no short cuts.

Would be interested in understanding options for some of the non-peak travel times (late Sep, early Oct). Giving up the idea of taking this in my Class B, but it’s a trip I would love todo again.
