One more time, one more chance...
Legendary song from the famous animation movie 5cm per second, arranged by who else than Animenz :D
To be fair, I don't remember much what happened in the movie, I watched it so long ago and was probably too young to even understand the full story. But two things I do remember though: first the astonishing visuals, and second this very song.
In a way, you don't even need to watch the movie, this melody speaks for it, it's screaming regrets.
In my opinion Animenz has very well captured all the emotions in his piano arrangement. Matter of fact, I think I might even prefer this over the original cover by Masayoshi Yamazaki.
One thing that surprised me though when I first heard it was the triple B base in the chorus part (for example 1:54, 1:56, 1:58) instead of going B, A#, A, but after I got used to it I found out that I do actually like it a lot, it creates a much, much stronger support.
Although not the hardest arrangement from Animenz, I spent a lot of time practicing and exploring it.
There are countless possible interpretations. For example adding some tempo fructuaction would not harm but rather emphasis the representation of emotion instabilities. Playing it faster or slower makes it almost two different pieces. The dynamics too, especially at the 3-voicing parts. This is maybe one of the pieces where imperfection makes perfection.
At the end I think the biggest reason I played it so much is that I do love this song so much.
Honnestly, what on Earth is more beautiful than playing this very piece, in a worm afternoon of April, while admiring the cherry blossom ?
