I think Metallica wanted artists to make the song their own, and the sisters certainly did that. I already loved their version of Enter Sandman, and the orchestral element (in my opinion) takes it to the next level❤🤘
One of the many unique things about The Warning is that we have all watched them start as kids and progress to the level they are at today. The next 10 years will be incredible.
IMHO - one of the most difficult ( and brave ) things for any band to do is take an iconic song like this and successfully cover it . I can count on the fingers of one hand where this has worked well . What the Warning did , which was genius , was take the song , dismantle it and then put it back together as a completely different piece while still managing to retain the essence of the original - it's a triumph !
All three of them were recovering from the flu that night. Especially Pau was the most ill still. As others have noted, they put this arrangement together over zoom with Alessia Cara, Canadian singer/songwriter, in 10 days from The Warning receiving the invitation to have the final mixed and mastered version to Metallica for inclusion on the Metallica Blacklist album set celebrating 30 years since the Black album. The proceeds from the Blacklist went to charity. Half to the Metallica charity and half to charities chosen by the 53 participating artists/bands. The instructions to The Warning from Metallica was to not do a straight cover. From some interviews The Warning celebrated their invitation for about 10 minutes and then went straight to work. Because of the travel restrictions still in effect at the beginning of 2021, Alessia worked from Canada, The Warning from Mexico, with their producer Matt Squier traveling to Mexico and David Bendeth in New Jersey doing the mixing and mastering. David was the producer for their 3rd album, ERROR, so he had all the settings already for music from The Warning.
The Gibson Explorer that Dany is playing is the one gifted to her by Lzzy Hale of Halestorm when they toured together in 2022. In the middle of The Warning's set, Dany was waiting for a guitar change. Lzzy came out and presented it to her on stage. Lzzy had been gifted a guitar back in the day by then Shinedown guitarist Jasin Todd. Dany thought she just got to borrow the guitar, after the set, Lzzy told it it was hers, rock the hell out of it. Lzzy also told Dany to pay it forward one day.
Actually, Alessia Cara was invited by Metallica to participate in the Blacklist album but she didn't know a single song from the Black album so, Chris Smith of 21 Entertainment Group suggested she collaborate with TW. She liked the idea and so did Metallica when he proposed it to them.
and to think they put this version together (minus the string section) in 10 days from the time that Metallica invited them to cover it. you will find The Warnings cover as the #1 track on the Metallica Blacklist album.
As a hardcore gamer, I absolutely love seeing the difference from seeing them as kids doing this song, to now. Because to me it's like watching real life leveling up. They earned the experience points, and improved their skills, and the results are right there. The Warning being awesome as always. Now, I'm off to the new Band-Maid music video debuting in just ten minutes from now! What a good musical morning!
That's awesome what type of games do you play?? ... Also we will be checking out that band maid song today at some point as well so stay tuned over the weekend!!
@@TJandTheGringa RPGs, fighting games, horror, And whatever the heck genre the Yakuza games fall into are all my wheelhouse. Final Fantasy 7, and it's remakes are my favorite overall, with Street Fighter being my favorite fighting game series. (Even though I'll still get stomped online. lol) Been a weeb since I was a kid, and find no shame in it. I'll be here for the reaction to the Band-Maid song, and whatever others ya got planned. Spoiler, I loved the Band-Maid video. Keep being awesome, and out of RUclips's crosshairs!
@leekebot1802 lol... Thanks man I'm a huge RPG fan I was a big fan of the dragon warrior series and then became dragon quest. Love those games and how your characters start with nothing and just get stronger and stronger. Haven't been doing much gaming in the last year or two but there are times where I'll sit down and just binge through a game. Jedi Survivor is when I just sat and played all the way through about 3 or 4 months ago. Also Arkham City was a blast. Awesome to hear you're into all those games nothing wrong with being a weeb dude. I can be classified as an otaku sometimes as I've spent so much time in the anime scene in Japan and completely immersed myself in Japanese to learn the language. So lots of anime stored in my brain. 😂
@@TJandTheGringa All great choices you named there. If you get the time, give Yakuza 0 a try. It's a wild ride, and if you were hanging out near Kabukicho when you in Japan, you may see some familiar sights. Dragon Warrior on the NES was my first RPG. Wish the darn language would take root in my head, considering all the anime I grew up with. But hard to immerse yourself in Japanese in mid-America. lol If you haven't got to see it, Frieren Beyond Journey's End. Fairly recent anime, but in my view? Best of all time if you're an adult. Seriously. La Gringa will likely dig it too.
@leekebot1802 that's awesome definitely going to check it out I wrote it down! .. Best Way by far to learn any language is immersion my friend.. when I started seriously studying Japanese it was after the first time I went to Japan I had already been studying but I found I could speak but not understand anyone... So what I did when I came back to the states is I changed my cell phone language and only consumed Japanese content made by Japanese people for Japanese people... You will be surprised how your brain will start to relate and interpret things on its own just like a child does when he's a baby doesn't say anything for a couple of years and then all of a sudden he completely starts spitting out sentences. We as humans never lose the ability to learn language like a sponge but it takes being around it all day everyday for months before it becomes second nature... Now mind you I am by no means fluent in Japanese but I can definitely hold a conversation and ask for things and understand the answers... I still study kanji everyday because that is probably my biggest weakness but the language has kind of just become a part of me. I spent 3 months teaching English to young kids in Japan and when I got back I was even dreaming in Japanese almost forgetting English because I had been speaking nothing but Japanese for 3 months so it was a weird experience. I can tell you first hand that immersion works but it just takes a lot of time and don't be frustrated with the fact that you don't understand in the beginning because that is part of it. There is active listening and passive listening so when you are doing other things just have Japanese going in the background so your brain can listen to it. Active listening means actually trying to decipher what is happening and being said. Work at it and I guarantee you it will work!
This is not a cover. It is a reimagination. This effort ranks right alongside Clapton' paying homage to Dylan's - Knockin' on Heaven's Door. Numerous bands, including famous ones like Motorhead, had covered Enter Sandman over the past few decades. Out of the 50 odd groups invited by Metallica for Black List album in 2021, about 20 (including Ghost) revisited this legendary song. None of them had the creativity to think outside the box & the conviction to go beyond the iconic form of Enter Sandman except the Villarreal sisters. By slowing down to halftime, by inverting its structure & by introducing a 3 part refrain in middle with "Hush now baby" The Warning finally completed what James Hetfield set out to compose decades ago - an eerie lullaby.
Very well put, @MrSudeepdas. t's one thing to re-imagine a deep cut that only the hardcore Metallica fans know. The fallout for messing the song up would be minor. It's a very different thing to totally re-imagine Metallica's most iconic song EVER. That requires a high level of self-confidence, a trait that The Warning have had since their very beginnings as child musicians playing on stage in front of their classmates. I would not be surprised if kids are learning how to play The Warning's Enter Sandman right now. If a video of that ever went viral, wouldn't that be a tremendous closing of the circle?
Great reaction. And as mentioned arranged and recorded (minus strings) in about a week working remotely with Alessia Cara. The OMV is a little different.
There are only a few songs that have given me total body chills from beginning to end. I just had to add this version to that list. Adding the string ensemble was a stroke of genius. Kudos to who ever came up with that arrangement. I have loved The Warning's version of this song since hearing it for the first time. This was over the top on another level. If you had poured water on me during this song, it would have made icicles. Chills to the bone.
Nice Reaction! This was a special concert which is why they had the strings with them for 3 songs. It was a celebration of 10 yrs. as a band and was in Oct. 2023. They're fixing to do some shows on the west coast and then on Oct. 15th they are going to join Halestrom and Evanescence in Vancouver for 9 shows in Canada.
This whole Pepsi Center concert is 🔥🔥🔥. I would suggest Disciple, Z, Dust to Dust/Dull Knives to name a few! You really can't go wrong though with any song from this concert.
Great reaction! I saw them in 2022 open for The Pretty Reckless. When Dani said they were going to cover Enter Sandman I was skeptical. Thinking it’s incredibly risky to do such an iconic song. About a minute into it I felt it was one of the greatest musical things I’d ever seen. All three ladies are great! But it’s not long before you cannot take your eyes off of Paulina. She is incredible and steals the show.
Even though the challenge from Metallica for the 'Blacklist' album was to make it your own it still takes some serious cojones to take the iconic song that they went viral with, turn it inside out and playing it like: "Thanks for writing this but it is our song now". And then turn it up to 20 with a string orchestra! Definitely watch the omv and Teatro version also and as a bonus here's them unboxing the gift box they received from Metallica for contributing to the album. ruclips.net/video/1X_a_Z5I21w/видео.html Love how they are both the girls next door as well as badass rockstars

Yesssss!! Las tres maravillas de México, saludos amigos, I saw them in concert last year in their hometown of Monterrey México, it was fantastic, saludos desde México, for me The Warning and Lovebites…… my favorites bands since I first heard them 5 years ago…
The ladies give me such a feeling of pride for some reason, love their work. Great hope for the future of hard rock and great song writing from The Warning. You guys are great by the way, and keep telling that guitar what to do. Thankyou's.
This version is great rendition of classic piece - version is completely different but yet respecting the original. I do also like a lot the Blacklist version with Alessia Cara who also does splendid job on that version.
Great reaction. Just for clarification, some of the background vocal is a track of Alessia Cara, with whom The Warning collaborated on the studio version of the song.
While the Warning does this exceptionally well live in concert, I prefer the album/MV version with the vocal trade-offs with Alessia Cara. The combination adds something special to the song IMO.
There were 23 songs in this concert. Pau is featured solo on piano in two of them, "Black Holes" and "Breathe". Bring tissues. If you do them, would be great back-to-back, "Black Holes" first.
For the 30th anniversary of the black album Metallica asked bands to re-imagine a song from the album. Do whatever you want with the music but keep the lyrics mostly in tact.
Knew you would really love and appreciate what The Warning did with remaking this song! Enter Sandman is a song where, if you change it at all, you can either change maybe 5% of it or you have to go 100% different. Metallica did say to make it different, just keep the lyrics the same, and The Warning really took that to the max!! And they did it in a week, while collaborating with Alessia Cara over internet video during the pandemic lockdowns.
This is a banger version of their version of the song. Maybe the best. There is a contender in the live version at Metropolitan. It is also very good. But ... I think you also shall take a look at the original MV, the one with Alessia Cara. It is special. It has its vibes of its own. Its softer than this one, but I would say it gives you the creeps in a more intense way. At least me. Recommended!
Metallica prefer this version. Probably. 🤘🤘 Very impressive performance - and I say that having just watched Band-Maid's new MV, which dropped 19 minutes ago!
Really wish there was video when Metallica heard it!! Can you imagine the looks on their faces? Kirk is probably still wondering where the solo and whammy pedal parts are at!
There are actually 4 The Warning versions of Enter Sandman- In 2014 these 3 little girls from Mexico made a video to send to their grandparents to show them how they have progress in their music skills. The video was too big to just email so their dad posted it on RUclips and sent the grandparents the link. It went viral and was seen by Metallica (they gave a shout-out saying “That drummer kicks maximum ass!”). It was also seen my Ellen Degeneres (prompting her to get them on her show in 2015). It has since garnered well over 25 million views. This is the 2014 version of Enter Sandman: ruclips.net/video/1boUYB9LFJY/видео.html In 2021 Metallica asked 53 artists to take any of the 12 iconic songs from their Black album and do a cover (any way they wanted to) for their Black List album, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Black album. Alessia Cara (Canadian pop star) was asked to participate but had no idea what to do. Because she shares the same management group as The Warning, she contacted them for help. It was difficult to do as Alessia was in Canada and The Warning were in Mexico and travel with COVID was not happening. They made it work and developed/recorded this completely re-imagined song in one week. They created the music video with the same logistical restrictions. Because of that you will see that Alessia appears as a projection on the wall in the video as she was not there. It was recorded in an abandoned textile mill outside of Monterrey, Mexico. Here is the official music video: ruclips.net/video/9tKQgesCcTc/видео.html When The Warning sings this in live concerts this is the version they do with Alessia Cara’s background vocals: ruclips.net/video/vg9vNE7gm0I/видео.html For The Warning’s 10th anniversary concert they created this extra special version of Enter Sandman: ruclips.net/video/-stoqv5W8RM/видео.html

@TJandTheGringa Black Holes and Breathe are two separate videos, and came just before Enter Sandman in the setlist. Black Holes has strings along with it, but Pau made a last minute choice to perform Breathe.
Thnx for this!!
@@TJandTheGringa I have seen them played by reactors in same video and seperate
@@TJandTheGringa also Pau said she'd never play Breathe live but was so overwhelmed by the crowd singing she decided to (Since it's a deep meaning personal to her)
Yesssss!! Las tres maravillas de México, saludos amigos, I saw them in concert last year in their hometown of Monterrey México, it was fantastic, saludos desde México, for me The Warning and Lovebites…… my favorites bands since I first heard them 5 years ago…
🤘🤘🤘🤘 Viva Mexico!!
@@TJandTheGringa vivaaaaaa!!
Love your T shirt Gringa...
I was there that day-night and it was so great!!! It does not matter my feet were like mexican tortas after jumping a lot! hahahahahaha
❤❤❤
This is one week of work, in its final form!
❤️⚡🤘 Loved the reaction!
♥️♥️
Great reaction! You guys gotta hear their song Error from this same concert! Live from the Pepsi center!
The ladies give me such a feeling of pride for some reason, love their work. Great hope for the future of hard rock and great song writing from The Warning. You guys are great by the way, and keep telling that guitar what to do. Thankyou's.
Really recommend that you see the Blacklist mv for this song. This live version is amazing. But so is the MV
This version they recorded in co-opereation with Alessia Cara for the Metallica Blacklist album. 😊
The Warning is 💯🔥🔥🔥 &⚡⚡⚡
This version is great rendition of classic piece - version is completely different but yet respecting the original.
I do also like a lot the Blacklist version with Alessia Cara who also does splendid job on that version.
Great reaction. Just for clarification, some of the background vocal is a track of Alessia Cara, with whom The Warning collaborated on the studio version of the song.
TW 🤟
While the Warning does this exceptionally well live in concert, I prefer the album/MV version with the vocal trade-offs with Alessia Cara. The combination adds something special to the song IMO.
There were 23 songs in this concert. Pau is featured solo on piano in two of them, "Black Holes" and "Breathe". Bring tissues. If you do them, would be great back-to-back, "Black Holes" first.
👍👍 !!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
🤘🔥⚡️
This version is sooo good.
These girls KICK ASS.
Love them all but damn Pau is absolutely killer
should really watch the official music video too
DPA 🔥🔥🔥 TWA 🤘🤘🤘 UK ⚡⚡⚡
For the 30th anniversary of the black album Metallica asked bands to re-imagine a song from the album. Do whatever you want with the music but keep the lyrics mostly in tact.
Disciple at the Pepsi center.

I could have watched this reaction on mute, yet still perceived how your spirits were affected.
💛
Metallica prefer this version. Probably. 🤘🤘 Very impressive performance - and I say that having just watched Band-Maid's new MV, which dropped 19 minutes ago!
Really wish there was video when Metallica heard it!! Can you imagine the looks on their faces? Kirk is probably still wondering where the solo and whammy pedal parts are at!
...need to check out their cover of Atlas Rising...Whiskey a go go...also...not a cover...their version...
About time Jimmy
Guilty! 😂
This is the 2014 version of Enter Sandman: ruclips.net/video/1boUYB9LFJY/видео.html
In 2021 Metallica asked 53 artists to take any of the 12 iconic songs from their Black album and do a cover (any way they wanted to) for their Black List album, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Black album. Here is the official music video: ruclips.net/video/9tKQgesCcTc/видео.html
When The Warning sings this in live concerts this is the version they do with Alessia Cara’s background vocals: ruclips.net/video/vg9vNE7gm0I/видео.html
For The Warning’s 10th anniversary concert they created this extra special version of Enter Sandman: ruclips.net/video/-stoqv5W8RM/видео.html
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⚡
They had 10 days to come up with this.
I am probably in the minority but I prefer the Teatro Metropolitan performance without the strings.

Excellent reaction check out the official video that’s the version on the Metallica album a little different and no strings the live version after the video is at the Teatro I personally like it better than this one no strings in it either later❤️😎🇺🇸
Daniela lead vocals on this song
Dani is the lead on this song not Pau.
Check out black hole and breathe from this same concert. Be warned😁 bring tissues.
Stay Tuned!!
Curios, are you and your band gonna learn this version?
Most likely not...We dont play it as often anymore.
they take our style , alessia car a's style put the song upside down (as metallica asked them) except the lyrics. Metallica members loved their versions. In that one fun fact . They had no rehearse with the orchestra
React to Voice Of Baceprot(VOB) do cover Enter Sandman and Killing By The Name live in Paris..
You all don’t do much Warning
We just have a lot of things going on at the moment but we will be covering them a lot more.

Metallicas version is also good, not that good but OK!
And how about Dani...? it would be great to hear these "reactors" talking about the freaking one actualy singing the freaking song...her voice is amazing, she is the frontwoman and leading singer of the band...
You should really listen to the video because I mentioned her name. Thanks for watching.
