My favorite type of troll is the one that seems like it wasn't actually a troll and you just trolled yourself, except that all of it was intended and you just sit there feeling stupid

Fun arthropod fact: stop motion originated from posing wired beetle carcasses. Somebody wanted to make a movie of beetles fighting, but the beetles couldn't survive the stage lighting as the heat was too great, so they used the zombified beetles as their new actors.
I don't know how to react??? Anyways that was a cool bug fact.

Oh wow did I ever need this today. I've been crying all day and had a nervous breakdown/anxiety attack after losing one of my guinea pigs to thyroid cancer that I've raised from a baby. I'm trying to distract myself from going into a depression and this made me laugh like an idiot. The part where he said "oh God he trained me. I'm a train choo choo" I started laughing to the point of tears. Thank you so much or being there when I need a great laugh.

There is only one explanation for this level, TROLL MAGIC.
The first Carl video I ever watched was Master and Commander. I immediately fell in love with your content, what with the science and the Mario and the tomfoolery. Now it’s been more than a year since I last watched any video from you, and I didn’t have as much fun watching your videos as I used to. I don’t think you have changed beyond recognition, nor do I think your content has gotten stale. I think it’s just time for me to move on.
I’ll finish this video and then rewatch Master and Commander for the first time in years. Remember: Everyday’s a good day if you paint, Carl. Farewell, and happy Mario Making.

The first clue that last section was different was there being a pipe above the vines, which wasn't there in the other version of that section.

I was so confused when there was a pipe at the top in the last room, because i remembered seeing that part from above and noticing that there were only those two vine bits below a ceiling.
So in the end i knew it was a different room, but it wouldn't have helped at all lol. That flag feint would still have gotten everyone.
I just wanna say great editing. The quick clips and edits flow well with the pacing of the vid. It's something that keeps me exited when I see an upload

26:50 -- Ooh, he was saving it for the twice twice, wasn't he?
The solution to that 50/50 is to jump right before the platform gets to the vine. If it's going up, you're not holding up. If it's going down, you still have time to grab the vine after. The 50/50/100 is when it dips down, waits a quarter of a second, and then immediately goes up and never goes down again.

I was just praising the Kaizo Block at 20:50 on Dave the Lizard's upload of this. So classic and perfectly placed. I love watching other creators' playthrough's of Trolls I've played. Thank you for also falling for the flagpole troll as Dave somehow whoopsie-daisied a win his first go around. My vid debuts next Wednesday. This level was so delicious, a lil' heavy on the salt though.

Carl's trope is to voluntarily go in the troll soft lock FIRST by himself, and THEN get trolled the intended way

30:06 Looks like you can softlock if you wall jump immediately after coming out of the pipe. The screen is not scroll stopped, and even if there's invisible blocks in the top row, you wouldn't be able to hit them.

I love the mix of enormous brain setups, and the tiniest of brain kaizo blocks.
I spent the last 10 minutes of this video with my hand over my mouth, staring in stunned silence. I was beyond even laughing. I was just amazed at what had been accomplished.

Carl falls for every troll thrice thrice once coz he walks willingly into the softlockbox the second time the contraption the box is intended for gets him in there and a third time because he forgot the troll. I love this so much reminds me of doing my dumb stuff thrice thrice too ^^
I'm curious to know if anyone went back and did the CP1 carl box room correctly on the first pass. (Putting the POW on the cloud to reach the door, instead of killing the Muncher and triggering the Rose music.)
I'm thinking it may be a false reveal, since subsequent passes of the level are different, and you're literally never able to try to get through that door again.
And since you beat the level without going through it correctly, it may be a completely fake Red Herring. But I'm still curious to know what would happen. Maybe it's a Dev exit or something.
If you did go back through that door, you're back in the room with the pokey & vine. I noticed the wall to the left of the door is breakable blocks. Maybe if you go back through, an off-screen Bomb opens a new hallway to the left.

Carl, I think you missed it, but the spikes held the answers, like you said you'd wanted a troll level to do.
The ending probably happened by you not being able to see which red pipe you enter under the level, which means they could've switched it. The hint was probably in a different room, and they intentionally copied the vines to convince you it's the same level.
EDIT: oh Carl figured it out.
