I got talked into joining a lodge for awhile. I didn't see any of the evil stuff that internet legends talk about. I was an officer in both "blue and red" lodges (York rite). I did not join Scottish Rite. The lodges have a bible open on an altar in the center of the room whenever lodge is open. What started bothering me was that the name of Jesus is never mentioned. It's a "form of godliness without the power thereof". The second thing that bothered me was the amount of time it all took up... which I decided I'd rather use to spread the Gospel! I resigned and haven't looked back. One other lodge member I was close to got saved. The rest were not interested.

and had started reading things about the oaths that every member takes.
He turned on me like never before and in a low voice ordered me to walk out of the room and never bring it up again. I then knew without a doubt that Dad had said some very serious oaths and that in his mind he couldn’t take one word back and that he feared something very terrifying. I saw the fear.
I didn’t recognise his expression.

Im getting the same kind of flak from ppl in a large online Biblestudy group, from Christians, about speaking out against false teachings.. They insist on ratiinalizing or overlooking ormaking excuses.. "keep the good stuff, ignore the bad".. Im sorry, but if someone is teaching "bad stuff", causing ppl to believe it, arent we suppised to point it out, regardlless of the reason? Im not talking about being confused or mistaken & then correcting it.. Im talking about standing firm & believing those false teachings.

I have a testimony. When Periscope was active I used to watch a very late night stream called THE KYLE MAC. He was there to preach the gospel and give emotional support to other Christians. When someone called in and commented about free masonry he got defensive. So did his brother in the chat. I found this disturbing and sent him a private message on Twitter about how I felt that was contradicting to Christianity and my concern. He said to me that - the masons build communities. That they probably built my church. That they help each other. He was stranded with his mother with a broke car and he stood on the road and used his “mason sign” and another mason pulled over and helped. He defended the brotherhood etc. This person was on a live stream preaching the gospel and Christianity! I was floored. For all I know he is doing Twitter live still to this day. I backed away fast this was years ago. That did not sit right with my soul.

After hearing a prominent Christian matter-of-factly and disparagingly refer to Billy Graham as a mason, I looked into it. One web site had a large write up declaring it so. I read every single word. Almost all the “facts” seemed to be garbage. They made major leaps in logic. They were so convinced they “connected the dots” but their failure at the most basic tests of logic was sadly (and maddeningly) evident. There were a couple or so points made that could probably pass as points of evidence but the rest of the dissertation against BG would have been thrown out by a competent judge in a heartbeat. So I say no, he wasn’t.
Side note: I decided to stop listening to that prominent Christian voice after seeing how far off his discernment was. The couple of “facts” he stated to so matter-of-factly and, at the same time, emphatically declare this to be so we’re among the points that didn’t come close to passing any logical test. I had looked to him as one who clearly saw things going on in the world and could express the truth and lies in them. I realized he was not up to the task if his logic was that far off. Good man but he’s not as wise as I built him up to be.

Joseph Smith the founder of Mormonism, was a 33rd degree mason, there are rituals oaths and symbols in their temple ceremony, the one oath that you described was in the Mormon temple early on and then they removed it because it was so violent. There are Freemason symbols on Mormon buildings, not one cross, that should raise a red flag on Mormonism.

When I was a young Christian I was asked by a very good friend who was a master mason to join their lodge. It sounded really cool or at least he made it sound cool. So I went for my entered apprentice and when it got to the point when they told me to call him” most worshipful master” the Holy Spirit was screaming in my ear basically to get out of there. I reluctantly finished the ceremony and told me friend I couldn’t be apart of that. He then got all the other masons to try and convince me that at the end of the road that it was God they worshiped but I couldn’t put away that precious nudging of the Holy Spirit that was letting me know this was not at all what they said it was. I never went back and became what they call a fellow. To this day I do not regret that decision. Never go past the stop signs he puts up in your life there is always a reason for it. My friend unfortunately drank the cool aid permanently.

When my dad was a young man (Christian, family man, WW2 Marine), he was invited to join the Mason's. What's interesting is that he sought the advice of one of his uncles who was a Mason about what he should do. His uncle basically told him not to get involved with them and so my dad turned them down. I'm so glad he did.

He covered that in his book. I bought all three books at the Prophecy conference back in February in Orlando.
